Chapter 5: Lucky or Unlucky?

Today the sea was calm, and the sun was shining brightly; it was a perfect day for hunting. Everyone was very excited. The warm sunlight poured into the captain's cabin on the ship. Charlotte had his feet up on the table, holding a glass of red wine in his hand, looking totally relaxed. He, in a lazy posture, was sipping the wine gently, savoring it. Of course, it had also been looted from the pirates.

Next to him, Lina was smiling. At that moment, Charlotte had an aristocratic elegance that made her feel a bit enchanted.

"Rrrronc!"

The sun outside shone beautifully, with a gentle breeze making the day very pleasant.

"Rrrronc!"

They were about to reach the designated spot, and there were no signs of pirates around. Fishing, enjoying the wind, drinking wine, what a wonderful life!

"Rrrronc!"

This was the most comfortable life; fighting and killing really weren't for him. Charlotte enjoyed thinking about such a beautiful future life.

"Rrrronc!"

"Damn it, Beta, don't snore while you sleep! It's so annoying!" The veins on Charlotte's forehead bulged as he roared.

Not far away, Beta was sleeping soundly. Suddenly, he woke up abruptly, "Are we there yet, boss?"

"Damn it, stop sleeping! Your snoring ruins the whole good atmosphere." Charlotte, full of anger, roared again.

"Hehe, sorry, boss, I'll be careful next time," Beta said, a bit embarrassed.

"Ah..." Charlotte sighed deeply, resigned. He had heard that promise so many times that his ears were already tired.

Only Lina was quietly laughing. Charlotte always ended up with frayed nerves because of Beta, but at the same time, he seemed so adorably desperate. Only Beta could make him regain that youthful spirit.

"Hum... Lina, don't laugh in secret, that's very rude," Charlotte said with an annoyed expression.

"Oh, I'll be careful." Lina responded, straightening up and showing a soft smile while answering seriously.

Charlotte's lips twitched. Really, familiarity breeds contempt. "Damn Beta, black sheep."

"Boss Charlotte!" Rushed footsteps were heard outside. A panting subordinate arrived immediately and said, "We've spotted a pirate ship nearby!"

Charlotte's expression darkened. Why did pirates always appear everywhere? They really ruined his good mood. He had just been thinking that there were no pirate ships nearby, and now they showed up as if to contradict him quickly.

"Pirates? That's great!" Beta shouted excitedly.

Charlotte really wanted to punch him. What was so exciting about encountering pirates? Charlotte ignored the euphoric Beta, quickly stood up, and Lina followed him to the deck. Beta, reacting, followed hurriedly.

Charlotte stood on the deck, not recognizing the other ship's flag. He didn't expect to encounter a pirate ship so soon after setting sail.

Lucky? In such a vast sea, to meet pirates just after setting out.

Unlucky? In such a vast sea, to meet pirates just after setting out.

How frustrating!

He watched as the pirate ship approached. Charlotte was puzzled. Were all pirates so reckless? Where did they get that irrational confidence?

"Guys! Get on board and kill them all, take everything they have!" When the ships were close, the pirate captain waved his big axe and roared arrogantly.

Charlotte, irritated, hadn't had time to react when Beta shouted, "Boss Charlotte, leave it to me."

Charlotte, hearing Beta's request, didn't stop him, "Go!"

Beta laughed loudly, jumping with such force that the front of the ship sank a bit, causing a wave and creating confusion. Charlotte grabbed Lina, with a line of exasperation on his face.

"Damn Beta, he acts like a madman when it comes to fighting." Beta landed on the pirate ship and started attacking immediately, kicking. Bang! The pirate captain rolled several meters across the deck, spitting blood.

"Damn brat, how dare you humiliate the [Black Axe Pirate Crew] like this! Kill him!" The Black Axe pirate captain shouted, trembling.

Beta laughed maniacally, looking at the minor pirates, only wanting to beat them to death. In no time, most of the pirates on the deck were taken down by a single blow from Beta. It should be noted that Charlotte subjected Beta to very strict physical training, cutting mountains with his body was a daily compulsory lesson.

The Black Axe pirate captain, seeing this, turned pale with fear. Beta smiled fiercely, looking at the captain of the [Black Axe Pirate Crew]. Without giving him a chance to speak, he lifted him with one hand. Crack! The clear sound of breaking bones, and the captain of the [Black Axe Pirate Crew] died instantly.

Looking at the corpses on the deck, Beta seemed unsatisfied. His opponents were too weak. Charlotte watched Beta's performance on the pirate ship, feeling satisfied, his effort hadn't been in vain, not bad. Then he ordered to approach the ship to collect the loot. The sailors hurried to maneuver the ship.

"Boss!" Beta greeted Charlotte with a silly smile.

"Good job." Charlotte praised him without reservation. Although Beta was sometimes annoying, his physical talent was impressive. If he could obtain the Armament Haki training method, he had no doubt that Beta's strength would increase greatly.

"Clean the battlefield, collect the loot!" Charlotte ordered.

"Yes, Boss Charlotte!" The subordinates shouted excitedly. Amid everyone's enthusiastic shouts, Charlotte was completely resigned.
