Chapter 48: Gifts from Hisui
"Phew, it's so cold~"
Late at night, Summer and Thwackey returned to the cabin. The night breeze was still cold, but the Sun Stone in his hand radiated a comforting warmth, easing the chill slightly.
"Let's head back to the cabin, Thwackey. It's really cold out here."
"Thwackey~"
Thwackey nodded and followed Summer into the familiar cabin.
After carefully placing the Diamond Clan emblem and the Sun Stone, Summer dropped his backpack and lay flat on the bed. The voice of the Ranger Assistant rang out.

These were the flowers collected by Arezu. So this inconspicuous white flower is called Silverglow Flower, and it can improve soil quality. It's a pity it's extinct now.

Summer sat up in bed. This plant sounded dangerous. Maybe he got it for defeating the Toxicroak? There were Poison-type Pokémon in Sunset Forest, but Summer decided not to plant such a dangerous herb for now and chose to store it safely.

High Horsepower is a great move. Summer nodded silently. Thwackey could learn it after evolving, giving it an edge against Fire, Poison, and Steel types. As for Ancient Power, it was probably because of the Yanmega. Yanma could evolve into Yanmega after learning Ancient Power.

"Looks like I can bring two Hisuian Pokémon back to life," Summer murmured. He knew what these unexpected outcomes meant.
However, a question quickly arose. Had Hisuian Pokémon really gone extinct? Or had they migrated to other places due to environmental changes?

Summer had gained a lot from this trip to Hisui. He had gone through many experiences, so the rewards were plentiful. He wondered if he would ever see Arezu and Adaman again. They were truly wonderful friends.
While Summer was still lost in thought, the Ranger Assistant's voice rang out again. Could there be more items?

"This..." Summer resisted the urge to comment. Helping Adaman retrieve the Adamant Crystal had resulted in this Adamant Orb. It seemed quite reasonable.
"Well, this is definitely something I won't be taking out." He shook his head, aligning with the Ranger Assistant's view that the Adamant Orb was usually just a pretty trinket. Where would he find Dialga to use it anyway?
"Thwackey?"
Thwackey looked puzzled, as if asking Summer what he was talking about.
"Nothing, Thwackey. But I definitely can't sleep now. Let's find something to do."
The 'surprise' of the Adamant Orb was quite overwhelming. Coupled with the change in his schedule, Summer was now completely awake.
"Oh, right. There's Arlo's work. He said it wasn't urgent, but I almost forgot."
To pass the long night, Summer started working on a resource distribution report for Sunset Forest. With the help of the Ranger Assistant, he finished the report quickly but felt it wasn't perfect, so he began revising it.
The revisions took him until dawn. Looking at the completed report in his hand, Summer felt very satisfied. His half-night effort had paid off.
"Done. Sending."
After completing his work, Summer stretched and prepared to make breakfast. The familiar meal of jam and bread was ready. After enjoying breakfast with Thwackey, they began their daily patrol, returning to their familiar routine.
The newly expanded area was once again Gracidea Meadow. The old residents, having experienced the last expansion, were not panicked. They comforted the startled new arrivals, and by the time Summer came to check, they were already calm, curiously running around on the bare soil.
Summer felt that if the expansion continued, Gracidea Meadow would have to be renamed Gracidea Prairie. A prairie within the forest was quite unique.
The newly added special area, Moss Rock, was located near Misty Lake. The moss-covered rock was surrounded by several green oak trees, looking quite natural. After all, similar Moss Rocks existed in other forests too.
As far as he knew, Galar didn't have such a feature. Moss Rock was a blessing for Eevee lovers who couldn't obtain a Leaf Stone, as it allowed Eevee to evolve just by touching it, saving a lot of time.
Should he advertise Moss Rock? Summer decided not to for now, leaving it as a surprise for visitors to Sunset Forest.
Next, Summer went to Misty Lake to visit Milotic. Although Milotic absorbed energy from the water, Summer thought it should also enjoy the taste of food.
Milotic didn't refuse Summer's offer. Summer fed it small pieces of jam-covered bread. The soft, sweet taste made Milotic close its eyes and sway happily.
It quickly finished the bread, then affectionately nuzzled Summer to express its gratitude. Milotic didn't ask for more; for it, this was enough.
After a day of patrolling, Summer returned to the cabin. Looking at the Diamond Clan emblem on the table, he had an idea. He needed to find a better place to display it.
Then he thought of the unused bookshelf. Wasn't it the perfect display case?
After carefully cleaning it, Summer placed all his month's treasures on it: the move books given by Ramos, the tea canister, Thwackey's small drum, the badge for bravery, and the Diamond Clan emblem.
Standing before the bookshelf, Summer felt very satisfied. It still looked quite empty, but he was confident he could fill it in the future.
