Li Xiao rubbed his nose and said, "This time, I'll only be taking Zi Yan."
"What?" Niu Meng asked, confused. "Pavilion Master, why would you bring that little girl? With us around, you'd feel much safer."
Linglong also looked at him with puzzled eyes. If anything were to happen to the Pavilion Master, they, the powerful beings summoned to protect him, would disappear from the Dou Qi Continent entirely.
They were born to protect the Pavilion Master, after all.
Li Xiao shrugged and explained, "The Inner Academy Selection at Jia Nan Academy is about to begin, and since Zi Yan is the top student there, she needs to go back and support them."
