Chapter 11: I Have Made Severe Lapses In Judgement

Jackie, hearing that Dex and V was finished talking, added in another question.
"What's the cut?"
"The average for fresh talent like yourself, would be thirty percent always, but thanks to Mr. V, for being honest, that just went up to forty percent."
"That's what I like to hear, Dex."
"Ka-ching, baby."
"Our time here has come to an end, wait two weeks tops for your eddies, keep your head low cause ol' uncle arasaka be watching, and as that ol' Greek dawg says, life's a banquet, so don't go thirsty but don't get drunk, either."
Before Dex could get up and walk out the booth, Roman spoke up, putting down his cheese plate.
"Just to let you know, I booked a room for myself in Konpeki Plaza, as three weapons dealers going to one deal sounds suspicious as hell."
"Smart thinking, Mr. Roman, but how will you get your weapons inside?"
"Anything can become a weapon in my hands, so I don't really need my weapons, I just like using them, like my Smith & Wesson."
"I don't doubt that, Mr. Roman, I'll be going now."
Dex got up and walked past V, telling him his ride is outside.
"That's my cue to leave too, got to get prep to jacked in, be there when you come on comms, but now's your chance to announce any issues."
"I'm good, nothing comes to mind."
"Let's get working then!"
T-Bug got off her seat and walked out of the booth, looked back at Roman, who went back to enjoying his wine and cheese, in a matter of disbelief.
"You ready to get going?"
"No point in watin', but why are you still here, Roman?"
"I gotta finished my cheese and wine, first, can't waste perfectly good cheese and wine, now, plus I already booked a room, so I'm fine."
"Also, what would happen if y'all fucked up, wouldn't it be weird for me to book in a few minutes before y'all, it could be suspicious on my part, so I'm waiting till I finshined this before I drive over, and book in, as I'm your escape plan, if something happens to me, then you're fucked, now go, my cheese and wine are getting cold."
V and Jackie both got up, and walked out of the booth, with V holding the flathead case, Roman was left all alone In that booth, enjoying his cheese and wine.

"They was some good cheese and wine."
Roman put down his cheese plate and wine glass, got up off of the table, picked the dishes back up again, and walked to the bar, sitting down on an empty bar stool, noticing Claire walking towards him.
"Yo, Claire, here's my empty dishes."
"Glad you brought them back, I need thoses for other customers as well, also I saw Dex's gang leave without you, why's that?"
"Let's just say, I have to wait for a few, for them to get set up."
"So, what, are you going to wait until you feel like they are ready?"
"Precisely, I got to go chill at one of my closest apartments, to the job, now, so bye, Claire ."
"Bye, Roman.
Roman got up, called a different car to pick him up, walked out of Afterlife, when he walked out of Afterlife, the sun shined down on him, and he was met by a fully glossy black modified muscle car, he got into the car and drove to Waston, Northside, to Martin Street, as he was driving, he put on a playlist he found awhile ago beyond the wall.

As Roman was driving, he got a phone call, he grabbed his phone,while keeping his eyes on the road, and put it on speaker.
"Who is it?"
"Boss, it's me."
"What news do you have for me?"
"Adam Smasher is back in Night City, and he's protecting Yorinobu."
"I should have figured, even though I supposedly 'killed' Adam Samsher back in 2023, what's to say, Arasaka didn't already have his brain copied and stored in their database."
"What will you do now, boss? I'm sure, Adam will remember you killing him, so he will be resentful towards you and hunt you down, and the reason why he didn't do it before is because, Arasaka stopped him, so be careful."
"Nah I'd win, cause I'm The Strongest."
Roman hung up the phone, and drove steady to the motel, his apartment is located in, thinking.
"I should have stayed in Night City, not leave in 2030 to see and explore ruined America, and I should have made my news network before I left as well, so I can have news if Adam returned or not, but there can be lapses in genius sometimes."
Roman turned up his music, and changed the song.

Roman picked up the pace, he was speeding down the road, like lighting, dodging cars left and right, in a very skillful matter, adding to his cool factor, he even grabbed a cigar, from his front compartment, put it in his mouth, stuck his head out the window, and lit it, while he was passing by a food stand with open flames, cooking some food, adding even more coolness to his cool factor.
Roman's actions and car was drawing a lot of attention, as the reckless of the driver and the clicking of the car's exhaust, drew In all the surrounding people, in awe.
"Damn, that guy is a adrenaline junkie."
"But, he's cool with it though."
"Nah, more like badass."
Roman was smiling crazily, from cheek to cheek, loving the thrill of speeding inbetween cars, and not hitting nothing, he did this until he spotted the motel, his apartment is in, he drifted into the opening with a crazy drift, drifting into a empty space.
Roman opened the door, got out, locked it, walked to the building, up the stairs, and walked into Room 1242.

I started writing this yesterday at 3, yet it took this long to write this chapter, I'm sorry for that, as I was playing No Man Sky, but you can't blame me, I'm addicted to that game, it got me by the balls.
