Chapter 96: An Ambush

Xavier rode the motorbike and delivered her safely at the Campbell gate. Leila was reluctant to part with Xavier for a reason she did not want to explore at this moment. Therefore, she stood with him next to the bike after he helped her down. 

She glanced at the gate with annoyance before looking at Xavier reluctantly. She could not deny how safe she felt with Xavier. He felt like a warm fortress despite or perhaps because of the danger that surrounded him. 

But she could not hide or run away from her problems. 

And her current problem was the Campbell family. 

Xavier seemed to sense her feelings and smiled a little before patting her head and ruffling her hair. 

"You are ruining my hair," Leila said even though her hair was already a mess from the blowing wind on the motorbike. In addition, she was leaning into the touch like a cute kitten enjoying affection.
