Chapter 70: Yearning

Red's POV

I have to ask Leo to hire someone to deliver my car to Thoma's farmhouse, and I wish to stay at Gordon's even if Alex is watching me like a hawk. I couldn't force him to like me, and I knew he hated me because I ruined his chance to be with Destiny.

But Alex couldn't stop me from getting closer to Destiny and his daughter. Hallie adores me, and I like her. She is sweet, polite, and a good girl. Hallie reminded me of Destiny when she was her age. Destiny is so attached to Halli, and she loves her like her younger sister she couldn't have.

I left the farmhouse with a heavy heart. Watching Destiny on my side mirror waving her hands made my heart ache. I wanted to bring her with me, but I didn't want to put her life in danger again and earn another punch from Alex.

"Hey, are you okay?" Leo asked right after he got inside my office.

"Yeah, I am fine," I answered.
