Chapter 52: The Last Thing I Want

Red's POV

"Carmie, what are you doing here? How did you know this place?" I asked in disbelief; I should have told the guards not to allow anyone except Destiny, Leo, and my parents in my house.

"Why are you asking me that question, Red? I am hurt that you didn't inform me you were back from your business trip and kept this place a secret from me." She responded by pouting her lips, coming closer to me, and linking her arm with mine. I felt so anxious for Destiny to see her.

"I have my sources, and I hated you for not telling me you bought a new house, but I knew you were secretive because you planned to surprise me, and I love that," Carmie added as she giggled.

"I was terrified when I saw guards in the perimeter. I couldn't believe you have bodyguards. Are you handling a criminal case now?" She asked with concern in her voice.
