Chapter 67: [67 - A New Year, A new Beginning?]

"What?" asked Elijah. He was too focused on Seraphina's wounds that he did not listen to what Seraphina had just said. It was hard for him to get over the fact that because of his negligence, he could have almost let such brutal thing happen to his Sera.

Elijah believed that it was his fault for letting her out of his sight, for leaving her alone just to talk to an investor. He should have stayed with her or taken her along but he made a mistake and if he had not reached their in time, he would have to live with this regret that he could not save the woman he has been falling in love with.

She was quite readily becoming his everything, the reason for him to live and breathe, and to think that he would have lost that reason tonight. It shook him to the core, shattered his heart to millions of pieces causing it so much pain that it brought tears to his eyes.
