IV ||| I Scream, You Scream, Ice Cream

He was sitting with a file in his hands when I came inside.

After using my air magic to dry my hip-length curly silver hair, braid it in two root long braids, and dress the black pair of cotton underwear, black leather high-waist pants, high black boots, long-sleeved turtle-neck cotton black shirt, black waist under-breast corset, black leather jacket, a pair of black gloves and a black hoodie, I finally felt clean again.

Nobody Gotta Know by Why Don't We was playing in the crypt when I came inside, and I sat down in front of the obsidian table to eat the reindeer roasted meat, boiled spicy rice, red beans cream, and grilled cheese with a cup of sparkling… champagne? "You got me champagne?" I gasped as I've asked him countless times to get one for me to taste but he never did it. And the idiot chuckled at my reaction.

"Well, you're finally getting free from here. Champagne is said to be the drink of special occasions. This sounds like an special occasion, does it not?" Then he snapped his fingers and a porcelain bowel with five cream iced balls appeared near the glass of champagne.

I covered my mouth in shock, "Is that ice cream?" My voice was a whisper and my shock was probably all written in my face.

"Mm-hm. You told me you wanted to taste the mint-choco, cookies and cream, the strawberry, lemon, and the almond with dark choco flavors, so, I managed to get them for you today," then he added a copper spoon to it. "All tableware is made of copper, as I know it has a color you like."

Still stunned, I stared from the champagne, to the ice cream, and to him, "Is this an entry for heaven?"

He chuckled, "Wait until you taste a pallet of Magnum with peanut. You will go crazy. I would have gotten to you, but it was the pallet or the five balls of ice cream, so I chose the ice cream."

Licking my lips, I held the urge to try the dessert first, because he would definitely get mad, given his obsession with etiquette, so I began eating the food first. "Master," I began when I ate half of my portion. "Are those my documents?"

A nod. "Yes. They got ready two months ago. Birth certificate, ID, school records and historic, all kinds of healthy exam possible, passport, driver's license, and also bank account. Remember what I taught you about finances?" He leaned closer and I bounced my head softly in agreement. "If what Her Majesty said was true, your mother, as a dragon, kept lots of treasure in her lair and it's all yours now. Nowadays the gold and jewels can be turned into paper and digital money, which is what we use in here. So, you can use these seven unlimited black cards to put your money on it, and then you can administrate it from your phone."

"Yes, I remember your lessons on the new-world money." And let me say that it's annoying and I prefer the old way.

"Good. You will be able to get anything you want with money in the new-world, Hel. For you to be able to do what you want, as I'm the one who's responsible for you, and I'm as your guardian and adopted father, I also added the documents of emancipation. In most places you are only an adult after 18, so it'll be of help." That's good enough. "Here," he handed it all to me. "You cannot lose them, okay? It's extremely important! You are unable to do most thing without these documents."

"Because of humanity," I said as I took them and let my eyes pass over the information superficially. "Wilhelmina Rosalind Miralanthor, born at 1:28 in the morning, on the Monday of April 5th of 2006, 17 years old. Born prematurely at 7 months old. Natural of Queenstown, New Zealand. AB+ blood type. White. Unknown mother. Unknown father. Adopted by Cosmos Pascal Duncan at 5 months old. Emancipated by Cosmos at 15 years old. Homeschooled. IQ of 218," I blinked. "How do you know that's my IQ?"

He leaned back on his chair, "One of the tests we made with you, was an IQ test. You passed with a higher number than Her Majesty's grand children. That's why she got pissed at you in that day," but he kept grinning. "I confess it was very delightful, especially because I thought you every single thing you know. I raised a genius."

I rolled my eyes, "The only lies in here are the year I was born, the fact that my parents are unknown, that you adopted be at 5 months old, and that I'm human," then I proceeded to finish my food. "Everything else is true," I said as I was done, then I drank the champagne before going for the ice cream. "Speaking of my race, you don't expect me to pretend to be a dragon in Belladonna, do you?"

"No. Nevertheless, keep it a secret for as long as you can. Because when they learn you are a winged serpent and not a dragon, something they've only read about in legends of the old world, it'll get chaotic. Even more because the Queen knew and hid it from the Ministry. Nothing bad will happen, of course, but they will all go after you to see you as if you were a rare special painting hanging on a museum," he tilted his head to the left. "But you have no reason to pretend to be something else."

"So, either way, they act as if I was a exotic animal they have never seen before?" A nod. "Got it. But I like the idea to make them curious before showing them what I am. Makes things interesting."

Cosmos grinned, "Hel, Hel, I can already imagine the witch contacting me because you threw the Academy in pure chaos, kid."

"Witch? What witch?"

"Mia-Alexandra Hallow, the strongest, oldest, and most eccentric witch alive. Even when I was a kid in the Academy, she was already the headmaster. She's a force to be reckoned with, but if you manage to fall into her good side, she'll definitely like you and it'll make stuff easier," could she be more ancient that Meredith? "She manages the academy with her right and left arm, both who are also forces to be reckoned with. Micah Zayan, a Royal lion shifter, and Atticus Percival, the strongest born vampire of Canada. They weren't there when I was a student, but I know they are quite hard to deal with, but have a soft spot for misfits."

When he gave me an excited look by dancing his eyebrows, I scowled, "Are you calling me a misfit, master?" I asked after having the strawberry ball of ice cream. "You're going to heart my soft heart like that, father," I feigned sadness.

As he know me better than that, he burst out laughing, "As if. Maybe that why I'm feeling okay with you dropping inside Belladonna out of nowhere. You doesn't give two shites about what others think about you, Hel. I doubt you will even care to notice that everyone has their eyes on you. And as the one who taught you how to fight, I know you will stand your ground both physically and in a vocal discussion, just as I also know you are as stubborn as a donkey and you won't back down from any kind of confrontation neither will you let yourself lose it. No matter who is it. Royal, noble, prodigy commoner. You will fight whoever comes your way."

"Aw, father, I know you love me," I mocked as I finished the dessert by eating the mint-choco ball. "You're right though, I have other important shite to do. You told me kids nowadays like to gossip, well, they can gossip about me as much as they want, it won't change anything. I do not care if they talk badly of me either, after all, no matter the race, every single person judge others according to their personal impression. And I have nothing to do with the way other see the stuff I do, or what I say."

"That's the winner mindset," he winked, snapping his fingers.

"Now, you think they could try to temper with my food? Because that's going to win them a possibly deadly fight," I lean back on my chair, satisfied with my food.

Sigh, "I have no doubt about that. They aren't righteous at all, Hel. So, if you prefer, you can go to the kitchen witches who make the food and talk with Bianca Abruzzese, the dark witch who's the head of the kitchen and has a obsession for collectable rare unique and magical weapons. If you get one that she wants for her, she'll probably give you the access card for the kitchen, them you'll be able to cook whatever you want."

"Interesting. I'll keep that in mind. Bianca Abruzzese, dark witch and head of the kitchen. Got it," cracking my knuckles, I leaned forward to the table, taking a napkin and cleaning my lips with it. "Anything else I should know about Belladonna Academy?"

"There are tunnels under the Castle, and it's the best way to go wherever you want, every communal room has a magical door that takes to the tunnels. They say there are ghosts there, but it's just a children's tale," he says that because he doesn't feel spiritual energy like I do. "The library has the biggest arsenal of books in the supernatural world, even bigger than the one in here, as ours is the second biggest. There's also a hidden hallway that can only be accessed by the library, it takes you to a hidden chamber that was once used for a secret council between the students, or just to hang out in there."

Now I'm invested, I found secret chambers fascinating. He knows it. "How do I get to it? Do you still remember or are you too old for that?"

He growled, "Hey, I'm only a thousand years older than you."

"Really fucking old," I mocked and he rolled his eyes.

"Your offense aside, yes, I do remember. Ivy Kim, the librarian is a light witch, the second oldest person working in the Academy after the headmaster, and also was already there way before I was a student. She's a cunning one, and is constantly redecorating the library and moving every shelf from it's place. Probably because of boredom. She only let people near the back of the library if she likes you. The back of the library is where there's an office with handwritten record books by the most important guys from ancient time, some are so old that date back from the old world, but it remains. You have to be liked to be let inside there, as there's a magical barrier she made it herself."

Oh? She sounds talented. "The secret entry that takes to the hidden chamber is in the back office."

A nod, "It is." He changed the song, putting Like It Is by Kygo ft. Zara Larsson and Tyga instead. "There's a magical mirror in the back wall of the office. It's a ceiling to floor, two meters large adorned mirror, and it is the door. You will know because when you look at your supposedly reflex on the mirror, the you of the mirror winks and grins back to you. To enter it, you need to channel one of the four elemental magic types in your hand and touch your palm in the mirror," he grinned as he noticed the excitement in my face. "It'll swallow you up."

"And to get back?"

"There's a mirror on the other side. It's tricky, but you have to use the opposing elemental magic to get out, or you will be locked inside. If you use fire first, use water later, and vice versa. If you used wind first, use earth later, and vice versa. If you are not alone, and one of the people you are with can't do that, as long as they hold your hand tight while you do it, you can bring them inside and take them out," it sounds amazing.

"I'm looking forward to that," I grinned. And as he got up, I got up too, anxiety swallowing me up. "Will you open the portal for me now?"

A nod, "Yes," he clenched his jaw, clearly as anxious as I am. "To the Himalaya Mountain Range," sigh. "Let's not say goodbye, but see you soon, alright? I'm not good at goodbyes." As if I was. "Take the file with your documents, and the things I bought you."

As I did what he said, I turned to him, biting my lip, "I'll see you in the holidays, in my birthday, and if I do something drastic."

That was enough to break the tension because he chuckled, "I am counting on it. Really. Cause havoc, because that Academy is needing some of your Hel energy," of course he could hold the joke.

I cringed, "Will you ever stop with the Hell jokes?"

He grinned widely, "Never. Oh, Hel," he gasped as if remembering something. "Aye, I almost forgot to tell you. My nephew, Felix-Gabriel Moore, son of my youngest sister, studies in BABS too. He's 589 years old, but 17 physically, and from May 8th, so you will meet him for sure. Don't torture the kid, alright?" I had no idea this kid existed, but alright.

I grinned, "I would never," then I took a deep breath. "I'm ready."

In a second he opened a wide oval portal to one of the mountains in the Himalayas, and the cold took me off the guard for a second. Just a second, since I don't really feel cold. "Missed it?"

"More than you can ever imagine," I whispered but I'm sure he heard it all. "Thank you, master. I hope you get over your crush on my damn grandma," that made him gasp and his eyes widen in shock. So much that even the portal wavered, making me chuckle out loud. Before he could do anything or undo the portal, I jumped through it, falling in the snow. "I knew it from the day we met by the way," I winked as the portal began to close.

"Hel!" He yelled embarrassed. "You little-" thankfully, it closed before he could finish what I'm sure was going to be a curse.
