Chapter 21: inuzuka clan
Walking into the inuzuka compound Naruto asked around for directions and eventually stood infront of kiba's front door. Naruto lifted his arm about to knock when the door opened " Since when do you come and visit me Naruto" kiba opened the door and stepped outside. "Hey kiba I came to ask you for a favor, my teamwork needs a little work and there's no one better than you-" kibba clicked his tongue" stop kissing my ass if you want me to train you, then I'll be getting something in return" Naruto gulped stepping back " Hey Kiba you're no thinking about taking away my free ramen coupon are you". " WHAT THE HELL AM I GONNA NEED THAT FOR, I'm not even in the mood for ramen what I want is a sparing partner, sounds like a fair deal right I teach you a thing or two and you become my punching bag in exchange" kiba proposed a mutually beneficial exchange between the two.
"...uh, sounds good as long as I keep my coupon I'm happy, Oh! kiba look here I found this cute puppy lying down on the path to your clan's compound, is he part of your clan". Kiba looked at the black puppy and scoffed " fist of all my clansmen take good care of our own all our ninja dogs and their children are all accounted for and second of all that's a wolf cub you idiot" Naruto eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. " A wolf cub what are you talking about, he looks just like all the puppies I've seen before" kiba pointed at his nose " I can smell it, he's definately a wolf.... Probably abandoned for being weaker than the others in his pack, I can tell just by looking at him he's not fit to survive in the wild" Naruto looked down at the young cub sleeping in his arms, devoid of joy he spent a short moment in silence. "would your clan take him in" kiba turned to the side "my clan specialize in training ninja dogs not wolves, they might seem to be similar but they're far from it, wolves are wild and nearly impossible to train, they're simply not worth the trouble.....".
Naruto tried to convince kiba "come on kiba, I'm sure he'll be useful" kiba was fed up with the endless talk and snapped " Ughh, If you care so much then you can take care of him, you found him he's your problem not mine". Naruto stepped back in astonishment "I don't know the first thing about wolves, you gotta help me out kiba" kiba scratched his head 'how am I gonna get rid of him now... Heh they should do it' " You know Naruto I would be glad to help you out, under one condition" Naruto stepped up to thank kiba "You have to give me your ichiraku coupon, I'm feeling kinda hungry" Naruto's smiling face froze " you gotta be kidding me" Naruto lost all shred of Hope, he didn't want to but he had no choice ".... Fine kiba you drive a hard bargain" Naruto handed over his coupon with treats flowing down his face.
Kiba stared at the coupon in his hand, frustration evident on his face. "My plan was perfect. How the hell did this happen?" he muttered to himself. Meanwhile, Naruto cradled the wolf cub in his arms, lost in thought. 'What would be a good name for you? .... Well, no need to rush—it'll come to me eventually' "Hey, Kiba," Naruto called out, snapping him out of his depression, "let's head to the training field. I want to get stronger already."
Kiba watched as Naruto began to walk away, a hint of annoyance built up in his eyes. "Hey!, you didn't even get food for your dumb wolf. He's starving, from what I can tell." Without breaking his stride, Naruto replied, "Then we'll stop by Ichiraku's on the way. Let's go." Kiba shook his head, pocketing the coupon and jogging to catch up with Naruto. The training field awaited.

A few minutes later

After grabbing some takeout from ichiraku Naruto and kiba entered training field three. This is where Naruto took the bell test a few months ago. "<Summoning JUTSU> come on out ash" Naruto bit his thumb drawing blood and slammed his palm on the ground. *Poof* an average cloud of smoke exploded from the jutsu. Ash leaped out of the cloud covered in green blood. " Hey Ash what's that green goo you got all over yourself" Naruto and kiba pitched their noses shut. The smell wafting from Ash could kill someone with a sensitive nose like kiba. Suddenly a faint whimpering sound could be heard from under a tree.
The black fured cub was trying it's best to cover his nose with his paws but failed miserably. "I guess he woke up hahaha...ugh" kiba mocked the wolf pup only to remember he couldn't stand the smell either. "Ash you stink, go take a bath" Naruto pointed to the river. Ash walk over to the river to wash off the gruel on his body.
"Hey there little guy don't be scared, here have some ramen.... My name's Naruto..." Naruto slowly approached the cub, he was on guard growling at Naruto. Kiba climbed up a tree and layed on a tree branch " Heh I told you, wolves don't cooperate with anyone that isn't in their pack, to him you're an enemy" kiba fell asleep soundly on the branch with akamaru sleeping on his chest. Suddenly a grumble escaped from the Cubs gut exposing his hungered state.
Naruto thought up an idea, he picked up the ramen and ate it right infront of the puppy. "Ooh... This is the best, you can always count on ichiraku ramen to taste this good... What are you looking at?... you want some?" Naruto offered a piece of meat with his chopsticks "Here you go eat up before I change my mind" the young wolf ripped the piece of flesh from Naruto and he feasting on it in a beastly manner leaving nothing behind."Woah, if you're that hungry you can have the rest of it" Naruto pushed the ramen over and the pup instantly dived in and devoured the first meal he had in a few days. " Hmmm... What should I name you, maybe something like chomper or chow...or maybe-".
" Ga...arm" Naruto snapped out of his thoughts and looked around for the rumbling voice and his gaze settled on the supposed normal wolf cub standing infront of him. " Did you just say something?..." The young cub bowed his head to Naruto "n..ame.... Ga...rm... than..k... foo..d" Naruto wash shocked for a few seconds until he remembered Pakkun could talk too " ok sure Garm it is, how about you stay with me" Garm turned around and limped away "can..'t...Gar..m... mus..t... grr...ow... stro..ng" Naruto's concern only grew but all of it was hidden beneath a shining smile "Stick around here and you'll get strong for sure, this is konoha the strongest ninja village in the entire ninja world". Garm walked towards Naruto "Ga..rm.. will...fo..llow". Ash finished cleaning himself of the green filth, joined Naruto and Garm introducing himself and thus Naruto, Ash and Garm joined together to form a unit that would one day be revered by those they protected and feared by those they meet in battle.
