Chapter 15: unstable change
In the forest the sand genin were using as their retreat route, Temari travelled next to Kankuro, who was carrying Gaara under his arm as they jumped from tree to tree. Suddenly, they stopped; Sasuke was blocking the path. "Damn it," Temari tensed up, prepared to fight. "You can't escape," Sasuke arrogantly proclaimed.
"temari, take gaara and go ahead" Kankuro's handed Gara over to Temari and took off a mysterious object from his back that was covered in bandages."yeah" Temari's face was covered in sweat she was hesitant to leave her bother behind."guess there's no helpin' it, I'll Be Your Opponent!".
"no...!, i'll be your opponent..." Another voice appeared out of nowhere surprising Sasuke and the sand three.Kankuro looked at the direction the voice originated " it's you". Shino stood out in the open on one of the tree branches."Shino, how are you here" Sasuke asked out of curiosity.
Shino lifted his arm and pointed at Sasuke's collar where there were a few insects crawling on." Before You Left The arena, i Used Some Female Bugs To Spread their scent on you...the scent of of the female is nearly non- existant, only the males of the same species can trace the faint scent of such females...although the males themselves have the stronger scent" throughout the explanation Temari had already left with Gara, only kankuro remained and he grew more anxious by the moment.
"uchiha Sasuke you chase after gaara, after all, your match with him has yet to be decided
i'll fight this one since i was supposed to be his opponent anyway" Sasuke looked at shino "you're rather confident, you think you can do it"
"Don't worry... i'll keep him off your back for 10 minutes" shino's face covered in shadows revealed his determination to fight. "By that time i'll have finished up here" turning around Sasuke left towards Temari and Gara leaving shino to hold off Kankuro.
" Hey temari put me down"
" Gara you're awake" Temari stopped on a large tree branch and watched as Gara clutched his head in pain ' The thing that's inside gaara's body was about to awaken back then! i've got no idea when it's going to fully emerge... this is bad I can't handle that thing... i'm alone out here' Gara suddenly turned back sensing an enemy approaching their location. Another stream of pain washed over his mind " Temari...scram"clutching his head Gara told temari to leave."WHAT!!" Temari tried to argue but Gara swatted her away like a fly and sent her flying into some distant trees "JUST GET LOST, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS" in front of Gara on a tree branch much higher than his own stood sasuke. They stared at eachother both exhausted from the day's events sweat fell from their brows.
Gara clutched his head once more " I don't know the motives of your village but I'll stop you..... Also I want to see your true face". Gara looked at Sasuke blue veins began to spread on his face, one hand clutching his heah to support his throbbing brain stared at Sasuke with a single eye covered in his palm.
"you, that is strong.....you, that have compa- nions,....you, that has an ambition....you, that is like me. once I kill you I will be the one to have destroyed all of that only then can I fell ALIVE" Gara fell to his knees groaning in pain as a grotesque transformation began to take place. On the right side parts of his body fused with sand and became sand itself . Half of his face changed to that of a beast and his right arm and back deformed and became a giant abstract arm covered in blue lines and claws. ' It's starting!!! ' temari grew anxious of what was to come.
Gara's up stared at his prey " it's... That eye from before" Gara bent downwards and Sasuke's eyes jolted upwards with shock etched on his face. Gara that was far away from him appeared within striking range faster than he could see.Gara pulled back his giant sand arm and swung it down towards sasuke. "UUUAAAAAAGGGGHHHH" *BOOM* A explosion resulting from the impact that destroyed the tree Sasuke stood on.
Sasuke managed to escape and hide behind a tree. 'ARE YOU AFRAID OF ME?! UCHIHA SASUKE!! AFRAID OF MY EXISTENCE... HAS YOUR FEAR OVERTAKEN THE HATRED, THE KILLING URGE? IS YOUR REASON FOR EXISTENCE AS PUNY AS THAT?' Sasuke came out from behind the tree he took refuge behind. Sasuke weaved hand signs, the sound of a thousand birds crackled in his palm. A fierce battle took place, but Gaara won in the end. As he was about to kill Sasuke, Naruto jumped in and kicked Gaara away, saving Sasuke from an early death.
"Sasuke kun" saskuraimmediately rushed to Sasuke. His limp body laid exhausted from the arduous battle he had faced head on by himself. 'This is...' Sakura observed the curse mark that spread across Sasuke's body ' he must have fought out of control like last time'sakura tried to support sasuke as he writhed in pain "GUAAAHH". " But kakashi- sensei said the mark was taken care of!"
"Froga" ash landed next to Naruto " THAT'S GARA?!... Are you Shure ash" ash nodded his head and unsheathed his tanto." you... You're the one I failed to kill that time" Gara looked past Naruto and towards Sakura. Back at the hospital Gara planned to kill Sakura but he stopped himself in order not to draw the attention of the hidden leaf before he killed his main target....Lee.
Naruto turned back and yelled at Sakura "GET AWAY FROM HERE SAKURA" Gara flashed past Naruto inches away from Sakura, suddenly he stopped mid air. Naruto and ash managed to grab onto his tail and launch him away. Ofcource the real hero was shikamaru, he managed to remain undetected and momentarily caught Gara in his shadow prison jutsu.
