Chapter 49: A LETTER FROM REMEYA

In the grand Astarot mansion, months had passed since Diaval and Eva had married, their love growing deeper with each passing day.

The late afternoon sun cast a warm, golden glow into their room, highlighting the elegant furnishings and soft, luxurious bed where they lay entwined.

Diaval's arm was wrapped protectively around Eva, his fingers gently tracing patterns on her arm as she nestled against his chest.

The room was filled with the gentle hum of their voices, laughter, and the occasional soft kiss.

"I've been thinking about baby names," Diaval said, breaking the comfortable silence.

"What do you think of 'Blazestone' for a boy?"

Eva's laughter rang out, light and musical.

"Blazestone? Really, Diaval? It sounds like something out of a warrior's tale, not a baby's name!"

Diaval chuckled, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Okay, maybe 'Blazestone' is a bit much. What about 'Stormbringer'?"

Eva pulled back slightly to look at him, her eyes dancing with amusement.

"Are you naming a baby or a mythical beast?"

"Fine, fine," Diaval conceded with a grin.

"How about 'Hawke'?"

Eva shook her head, laughing again.

"No, love, it has to be something sweet. How about 'Elias' for a boy?"

Diaval nodded thoughtfully. "Elias... I like that. It's strong but gentle. And for a girl?"

"I've always liked 'Talia'," Eva said, her eyes softening.

"It means 'bloom', and I think it suits a little girl perfectly."

Diaval smiled warmly.

"Talia is beautiful. But what if we named her 'Moonshadow'?"

Eva playfully swatted his arm.

"Diaval, you're impossible! We're not naming our daughter 'Moonshadow'!"

They both dissolved into laughter, the sound filling the room with joy.

Diaval's expression turned more serious for a moment, his eyes gazing lovingly at Eva.

"I can't believe I got so lucky. You're everything I could have ever dreamed of and more.

I used to think I wasn't capable of having a family, of being truly happy. But you changed all that."

Eva's smile softened, and she cupped his face in her hands.

"Diaval, you deserve all the happiness in the world. We'll build a beautiful life together, filled with love and laughter."

He leaned in, capturing her lips in a tender kiss. When they pulled apart, Diaval's eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Okay, one last name idea. What about 'Ragnor the Fearless'?"

Eva burst into laughter once more, her head falling back against the pillow.

"Diaval, you're ridiculous! But I love you for it."

Diaval.chuckled a bit knowing the names he was mentioning were either from movies a he watched or were some usernames he had been meaning to use for RPG games.

'I gotta admit though, those names are stupid for naming kids.'

They continued to talk, their conversation meandering through dreams of their future.

They discussed the kind of parents they wanted to be, the values they hoped to instill in their children, and the adventures they would take as a family.

Diaval spoke about building a treehouse in the grand old oak in the garden, while Eva imagined teaching their children to bake in the kitchen.

"Do you think our kids will inherit your charmingness?" Eva asked, curiosity lighting up her features.

Diaval shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe. Either way, they'll be amazing because they'll have you as their mother."

Eva smiled, her heart swelling with love. "And they'll have you as their father, which means they'll be strong, brave, and incredibly silly with names."

Diaval laughed, pulling her closer. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

They lay there, wrapped up in each other, dreaming of the life they were building together.

Every kiss, every laugh, every tender word was a promise of a future filled with love and happiness.

Diaval couldn't help but marvel at how far he'd come, from a life he thought would never include a family to this moment, with the woman of his dreams in his arms and a future that looked brighter than he could have ever imagined.

Diaval and Eva were enjoying a lazy afternoon in their room, nestled comfortably in each other's arms.

Their clothes were strewn across the floor, and they were wrapped in a warm blanket, sharing intimate moments and soft kisses.

The tranquility was suddenly interrupted by a knock at the door.

Startled, they quickly pulled on their robes, hastily covering themselves. Diaval called out, "Come in!"

The door opened to reveal a wolf beastkin knight, her ears twitching slightly as she saluted.

"Young master Diaval, Lady Eva," she said formally, "a letter has been received at the gate. It bears an urgent seal."

Eva and Diaval exchanged curious glances.

"Thank you," Diaval said, taking the letter from her outstretched hand.

"Who is it from?"

"The seal indicates it's from Remeya Magic University," the knight explained.

"It arrived with a swift messenger, marked as urgent."

Eva's heart skipped a beat at the mention of her university.

"Thank you for bringing this to us," she said, her voice steady but her eyes betraying her concern.

The knight bowed. "Of course, Lady Eva, young master Diaval. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to call upon me."

With that, the knight turned and left, closing the door quietly behind her.

Diaval and Eva returned to their bed, the letter feeling heavy in Eva's hands. She looked at the seal, her mind racing with possibilities.

"Should we open it together?" Diaval asked gently, sensing her apprehension.

Eva nodded, breaking the seal and unfolding the letter. She took a deep breath and began to read aloud:

"Dear Professor Eva,

We hope this letter finds you well. Due to unforeseen circumstances and urgent matters arising at the university, we regret to inform you that your current holiday must be cut short. Your presence is required immediately to address these pressing issues. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Dean Alistair

Remeya Magic University"

The room fell silent as the weight of the words sank in.

Eva's heart felt heavy, and she glanced at Diaval, whose expression mirrored her own sadness.

"I can't believe this," Eva murmured.

"I was so looking forward to spending more time with you, with our family."

Diaval wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.

"I know, Eva. This isn't what we planned. But if they need you, then you should go. It's important."

Eva looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears.

"I don't want to leave you."

Diaval kissed her forehead, his voice gentle but firm.

"We'll be alright. This is part of who you are, and I support you completely. We'll make it work."

Eva nodded, trying to smile through her tears.

"Thank you, honey. Your support means everything to me."

The rest of the afternoon was spent packing. Eva moved through their room, gathering her things with a heavy heart. Diaval helped where he could, his presence a comforting balm to her sadness.

By evening, her bags were packed, and it was time to share the news with the rest of the family.

In the grand hall, Valtor, Sir Eldric, and Lady Jade gathered to see Eva off. They embraced her warmly, offering words of encouragement and farewell.

"Take care, Eva," Valtor said, his voice filled with paternal pride.

"We're all very proud of you."

Sir Eldric nodded in agreement.

"You're doing important work, Eva. We'll be here when you return."

Lady Jade hugged her tightly.

"We'll miss you, dear. Stay safe."

Diaval and Eva shared a tender kiss, their foreheads touching as they whispered their goodbyes.

Just as they were about to kiss again, Valtor coughed loudly, bringing them apart with a knowing smile.

Eva laughed softly, wiping a tear from her eye.

"I'll be back as soon as I can."

As she made her way to the door, she couldn't help but notice Lady Seraphina standing at the top of the stairs, staring down at her with a cold, calculating expression. Their eyes met for a brief moment, and Eva felt a chill run down her spine but brushed it off.

Ignoring the unsettling gaze, Eva stepped outside, where a carriage was waiting to take her to the university.

She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the journey ahead. As the carriage began to move, she looked back at the mansion, her heart aching at the thought of leaving her beloved Diaval and their newfound family.

But she knew she had to go. Duty called, and she would answer, just as she always had.
