Chapter 82: Not until... I'm strong enough

Valerie waited with Owen outside the emergency ward. Max was immediately taken in for treatment under the name of Stewart and that was when she realized who Max really was. Maximus Stewart.

But that wasn't the thought that was occupying her mind.

She was confused and still shaken by the incident. Who was it? Who was it that used her name to hurt him so badly?

"Miss Ross," Owen called and Valerie looked up.

"Yes?" Her response helped Owen confirm that she was indeed 'the' Valerie Ross.

"You can go home now." He said, but Valerie shook her head.

"No, I won't feel at ease if I leave, so I'll just stay." She was firm with her words and that made it impossible to come up with an excuse to send her home.

It was already four hours since Max entered the emergency ward.
