Chapter 6: Demons.
( Ena's POV )
The strange horses galloped down the hills and I ran towards the patrol pushing the new limits of my body, I was able to get to the patrol car in time and I started looking for a weapon as fast as I could, In the front there was a revolver connected to the dashboard and as soon as I took it one of the creatures smashed its head against the window, I took advantage of the fact that he showed his head to shoot at point-blank range, I emptied the revolver and the horse let out a horrible screech before exploding in a black cloud, again part of that thing entered my body and I felt a little stronger.
That was very interesting but I didn't have time to think when the other horses attacked the patrol, I came out from the other side of the patrol and jumped on one of the horses, It started to kick to throw me off its back but I grabbed it by the horns while I hit it repeatedly on the head and after a few powerful blows another creature exploded into a black cloud, then another creature attacked me but I grabbed it by the horns and stopped it in its tracks, at that moment I felt my strength triple and I was able to twist the horse's head with my hands, The other two rushed towards me, as if by instinct I pointed my palm forward and they were engulfed in ice and shattered soon after.
I breathed a sigh of relief when the battle ended but when I tried to take a step forward my strength left me and my body felt sluggish.
Just as it was gone I could feel my strength slowly returning but I couldn't wait here until I recovered, I made my way to the patrol car to completely ransack it and at that moment my phone rang, and when I saw the screen, it had a picture of the creatures I had defeated along with useful information like their names.
Ena: so that thing was a Bicorne.
After finding some bullets for the revolver and a shotgun in the trunk, I took out my phone and tried to find that map function that appeared before the Bicornes' attack and when I found it I saw the shadows of other creatures flying over me so I ran to a destroyed building and waited for them to leave.
Meanwhile, I thought about what I was going to do, I had to check on my mother but she is very far away and I wasn't sure I could get to her on my own, Going back to school will be my priority, second will be understanding my new abilities, and I can't forget about finding out what happened to our world.

I made my way back to school and thanks to my map I was able to avoid running into other dangerous creatures but that made the trip longer than it should have been, When the map showed another group of enemies I watched them from another destroyed building, I was waiting for them to move away to continue my journey but this time it was something different, They were not a group of similar creatures moving together but one type of creatures, attacking others.
Some green blobs with red eyes were chasing some small fairy-like creatures, those devoured or absorbed I suppose the fairies until only one remained.
???: no! get away from me.
For the first time I heard one of those creatures speak and after that, I could only see the little fairy as someone who needed help and I couldn't help but run towards them, I shot with the revolver but with my aim, I only managed to get their attention then I raised my palm and tried to use that ice attack again, A strange sensation ran through my arm and I was able to release a wave of cold that froze one of the blobs, I had trouble making follow-up attacks but that didn't matter when the rest of the blobs retreated, With the battle over my phone again showed me information about the creature, which was a Slime, After that, I continued with my journey.
???: wait you saved me?
Ena: yes I guess so.
When I tried to walk away the fairy flew in front of me, I tried to leave her behind but she kept flying close to me, my phone rang again and showed me information about the thing that was following me, which was a Pixie.
Pixie: you are quite strong, what kind of demon are you?
Ena: I'm not any kind of demon.
Pixie: huh? Are you a human? Hey, why don't you form a contract with me!!
Ena um what are you saying?
Pixie: That's what you humans do, isn't it? Form contracts with demons.
Ena: Tell me what you know about other humans.
Pixie I will, I will tell you everything I know if you form a contract with me.
Ena: are you trying to make me your slave or something?
Pixie: I not I not, you are stronger than me so I am the one who should listen to you.
Ena: and I suppose you want me to protect you.
Pixie: hey I can fight too, if I hadn't run out of energy I would have finished off those Slimes with my magic, come on this is good for both of us, no one survives here alone.
Ena: It's been going well for me so far.
Pixie: So far, but there are much more dangerous demons out there.
To complete my goals, this sounds like the fastest way to achieve them even with the possible consequences, She was completely right about something. I won't survive long on my own.
Ena: ummm ok let's form a contract.
Pixie: Yay~ I assure you, you won't regret this.
Ena: ... And how do we do that?
Pixie: I don't know, you're the human, you should know.
Before I could think my phone rang again, and a message appeared on the screen, 'form contract yes/no', I pressed yes and a magic circle appeared below the two of us, some threads of light came out of our bodies and these were tied in the middle of us, and when the magic circle disappeared I could feel a connection between us and a new function appeared on my phone that showed stats about the two of us.
