She Doesn't Want Him Anymore

Fully prepared, Sheng Xiangsi pursed her lips and solemnly apologized.

"Sorry, it was my fault that day... I shouldn't have said those things to you."

Was she here to apologize?

Fu Hanjiang narrowed his eyes slightly but said nothing.

Suddenly, Sheng Xiangsi felt a darkness envelop her as the man, like a mountain, collapsed onto her.

His intense masculine scent quickly surrounded her, making her frown and feel suffocated. Instinctively, she raised her hand to push him away. "Fu Hanjiang..."

"Tsk."

Sensing her resistance, his eyes turned cold. "Is this your way of apologizing? If you won't let me hold you, why are you here?"

"No..."

Sheng Xiangsi stopped herself just in time and hurriedly shook her head.

"It's not that I won't let you hold me, it's just that you're too heavy. I couldn't support you for a moment."

This explanation seemed reasonable.

Fu Hanjiang raised an eyebrow and held her close, his hot breath brushing against her ear, seeping into her ear canal.

In a low, murmuring voice, he said, "Xiangsi, I'm dizzy."

Being so close, she could smell the strong scent of alcohol on him.

It seemed he had drunk a lot that night; no wonder he felt dizzy.

Sheng Xiangsi gritted her teeth, mustering all her strength to support him and lead him inside. "I'll help you inside."

Her limited strength only allowed her to get him to the sofa, but even that left her covered in a thin layer of sweat.

"Mm... Ugh..."

Fu Hanjiang lay on the sofa, holding his temples and groaning. "Xiangsi, I don't feel well."

"I know."

Sheng Xiangsi frowned tightly. "Lie down for a while. I'll make you some sober-up tea."

She turned and walked away.

A short while later, she returned with a blanket, spread it over him, and then went to the kitchen.

Having lived here for a while, she knew where the sober-up tea bags were. She boiled some water to make the tea.

Once ready, she poured it into a cup and brought it to the living room.

"My head hurts!"

Fu Hanjiang, like a child, was fussing, calling out, "Xiangsi! Where did you go?"

"I'm here!"

Sheng Xiangsi hurried over, supporting him. "I was making you some sober-up tea... It's ready, drink it up."

"I don't want to!" Fu Hanjiang frowned in disgust, turning his head away.

Sheng Xiangsi patiently coaxed him, "Didn't you say your head hurts? Drinking this will make it better."

She lifted the cup and brought it to his lips.

He glanced at it. "You made this?"

"Yes." Sheng Xiangsi nodded. Was there a problem?

"Oh." Fu Hanjiang smiled. "Then I'll drink it."

Out of appreciation for her effort, he took small sips from the cup she held.

After finishing, he held her hand. "Don't go, you can't leave. Xiangsi, don't leave me..."

Then, he collapsed onto the sofa, falling asleep.

Sheng Xiangsi tried to pull her hand free but couldn't. Was his grip this strong even in his sleep?

...

As the dawn broke, Fu Hanjiang suddenly opened his eyes and sat up on the sofa. He called out, "Xiangsi!"

But no one responded.

He lay alone on the sofa, the blanket having fallen to the floor. There was no trace of Sheng Xiangsi.

Tsk.

Fu Hanjiang raised his hand to his temple. Could it be that everything last night was just a dream?

Xiangsi hadn't come... She found him disgusting and didn't want him anymore!

Click-clack.

Footsteps echoed on the floor.

"!" Fu Hanjiang looked up sharply.

"You're awake?"

Sheng Xiangsi walked towards him, her long hair tied back in a fishtail braid for convenience, making her slender waist appear even more delicate.

Fu Hanjiang couldn't help but swallow. Last night hadn't been a dream! She really came!

He spoke with a hint of grievance, "Where did you go?"

"In the kitchen."

Sheng Xiangsi pointed to the kitchen. "Your kitchen is quite lacking. I cooked some porridge and made sandwiches. Since you drank last night, I didn't make coffee."

She bent down to pick up the fallen blanket and folded it in her hands.

While doing so, she asked, "How do you feel? Does your head still hurt?"

"It's okay." Fu Hanjiang shook his head. "Just a bit dizzy."

"That's normal when you first wake up."

She held the blanket. "I'll put this away. You should get up, rinse your mouth, and eat something. You'll feel better."

"Okay."

Fu Hanjiang got up. When he entered the dining room, Sheng Xiangsi was at the kitchen island, serving porridge. The rising steam gave her a soft, glowing aura.

Moved, he silently walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.

"!"

Sheng Xiangsi stiffened, momentarily frozen.

But she quickly composed herself. "Go sit down. The food will be ready soon."

"Xiangsi."

Fu Hanjiang didn't move, lowering his head to bury his face in her neck, his voice muffled. "Le Yi and I grew up together."

Hmm?

Sheng Xiangsi was slightly stunned. Was he explaining himself?

"I'm good to her, I admit. But there's nothing indecent between us. The rumors are not true."

His hand around her waist tightened involuntarily. With some difficulty, Fu Hanjiang said, "I admit I treat her well, but there's nothing improper. Please believe me, okay?"

This... was his explanation?

Fortunately, he couldn't see her face, or he'd notice her scornful expression!

"Mm." Sheng Xiangsi responded without emotion, not bothering to delve deeper. She nodded perfunctorily. "I believe you."

But inwardly, she thought: It'd be best if there was something indecent...

"Xiangsi."

Fu Hanjiang turned her around, holding her waist with one hand and her nape with the other, and kissed her impulsively.

The kiss caught her off guard.

Sheng Xiangsi trembled, the spoon in her hand slipping into the pot. Instinctively, she raised her hand to his chest...

But she didn't push him away.

Instead, after a brief hesitation, her palm slid up to wrap around his neck.

Fu Hanjiang was slightly stunned, his eyebrows raising in surprise. He pulled her closer, deepening the kiss.

He could sense that although Xiangsi was still somewhat resistant, it wasn't as intense as before.

She was accepting him.

"Xiangsi, Xiangsi..."

Gradually, Fu Hanjiang began to lose control.

"Enough!"

Sheng Xiangsi sensed the danger and hurriedly pushed him away. Her delicate face was flushed, her lips slightly swollen.

Half teasing, half angry, she said, "Aren't you going to eat? I got up early to make this."

"I will!"

Fu Hanjiang grinned, his eyes and brows filled with laughter. "I'll eat everything you made!"

Sheng Xiangsi thought: What a fool!

Didn't he used to dislike the smell of the kitchen?

Back then, when she cooked a bowl of noodles, he had complained so much. Now, he would endure anything for Yao Le Yi.

After breakfast, they left together.

Fu Hanjiang drove Sheng Xiangsi to her dance troupe.

"Oh, by the way."

Before getting out of the car, Sheng Xiangsi remembered something and suddenly looked at him. "Can I ask you for a favor?"

"What is it? Do you even need to ask?" Fu Hanjiang was willing to do anything for her. "Just tell me, and I'll do it."

"It's just..."
