Emerging From The Sea

Nomdic Merchant POV:

Ah, why must we endure this torment? Without Queen Marika songs, I fear I'd have succumbed to madness long ago. The shattered Elden Ring has brought naught but strife and conflict among her children, each vying for the title of Elden Lord.

Once, we lived in peace, but now Caelid lies in ruins, consumed by Malenia's rot, while the other lands are ruled by Marika's offspring. Only the prophecy of a Tarnish claiming the title of Elden Lord sustains faith in Queen Marika and the Golden Order among our people.

As I gaze upon the endless sea, contemplating the cursed era we endure, a disturbance catches my eye. Not a fish, but a man emerges from the waves, cursing a ship lost to the depths.

"FUCK THAT SHIP!" his voice carries, startling me from my reverie.

As the man approaches, I take in his appearance: long black hair streaked with grey, a beard to match, hazel eyes filled with a weariness I recognize all too well. He stands tall and strong, a survivor of hundred of battles.

"Where am I?" he asks, his voice rough from his ordeal.

Azeroth POV:

"FUCK THAT SHIP," I bellowed, the frustration of my recent misfortune boiling over. The vessel that had been my home for ten years lay shattered beneath the waves, its demise a cruel twist of fate. Were it not for my unyielding endurance and the curse that denied me death's embrace, I would have perished countless times over.

Surveying my surroundings, I spotted a man clad in rough wool garments. With a sense of determination, I approached him, noting a peculiar glint in his eyes that stirred a sense of familiarity within me.

"Where am I?" I demanded, my voice betraying a hint of urgency.

"You're now in Limgrave," came the reply.

"Limgrave? Yeah, never heard of it," I confessed, my ignorance laid bare.

"How have you never heard of Limgrave? Even babes in The Land Between know of it," the man remarked, his incredulity evident.

"I see this land is called The Land Between," I observed. "Tell me more about it."

"Sure, I can tell you, but can you pay?" the man queried, adopting the demeanor of a merchant.

"Hmm, a merchant," I mused. "Sure, I can pay."

===================

In The Land Between, eight regions hold sway, with five ruled by the offspring of Queen Marika. Rumors speak of underground cities, though their existence remains unconfirmed:

Limgrave: Ruled by Godrick The Grafted.

Calied: Governed by General Radahn, known as the Conqueror Of the Stars.

Liurnia Of The Lakes: Under the rule of Lunar Princess Ranni.

Altus Plateau: Home to the capital Leyndell, governed by Morgott, The Omen King.

Mt. Gelmir (Volcano Manor): Ruled by Rykard, Lord Of Blasphemy.

Giant Mountaintop: Once the domain of Fire Giants, now fallen by the hand of the First Elden Lord, Godfrey.

Miquella Haligtree: Dual rule by The Twins Miquella and Maleina.

Crumbling Farum Azula: Under the dominion of The Mighty Dragon Lord Placidusax.

In the era of Queen Marika The Eternal, she bore three children, known as the "Golden Lineage": The Cursed Twins Mohg and Morgott, and Godwyn The Golden. A war ensued between The Carian Family and the Golden Order, culminating in Radagon of The Golden Order marrying Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. Their offspring—Radahn, Rykard, and Ranni—rose to prominence.

A sculptor hailing from Leyndell received a commission to craft a statue of Radagon. During the meticulous process of sculpting, a startling revelation emerged - Radagon was, in fact, Marika. This clandestine truth lay concealed within the very essence of the statue itself, only to be unveiled through the casting of the Law of Regression. When performed in the presence of the statue, its form underwent a miraculous transformation, shifting from that of Radagon to Marika.

Following Godfrey's banishment, Marika wed Radagon, making him the second Elden Lord. Together, Marika and Radagon's union bore fruit in the form of two children, the twins Malenia and Miquella. Much like Radagon's daughter Ranni, these offspring were Empyreans, holding the potential to succeed Marika. However, the truth behind Radagon's identity unveiled a profound revelation: Radagon and Marika were one and the same, with Radagon being described as Marika's male "other self." Consequently, the twins were born of a single god, their divine lineage evident. Yet, their arrival into the world was marked by affliction: Malenia suffered from the scourge of rotting sickness, while Miquella was cursed with eternal childhood.

The Night Of The Black Knives marred the peace, with a fragment of the Rune Of Death stolen, leading to the assassination of Godwyn the Golden. This tragedy drove Marika to shatter the Elden Ring, inciting war among her demigod children.

Despite her decree, no victor emerged. Recently, a prophecy surfaced, foretelling the rise of a Tarnish to claim the title of Elden Lord, offering a glimmer of hope in this tumultuous era.

===================

"And that's everything about The Land Between."

"You said that five children of Marika ruled regions, but you clearly mentioned six names, not five. Why is that?"

"Godrick The Grafted is a descendant of the Golden Lineage, the bloodline which began with Queen Marika the Eternal and her first consort, Godfrey. Only a distant relation of Marika's line, his divine blood was sorely diluted, and he was viewed as the runt of the litter."

"Okay, now, customer, your price will be 25000 rune. Please pay now."

"I see, different currency. Well, I didn't intend to pay in the first place."

"Put it on my debt. I will come later to pay."

"No, you can't. You need to pay now," the merchant said with an angry voice.

With a sigh, I opened my inventory and took out my Greatsword. "You will put it on my debt. Do you understand?"

The merchant, scared for his life, accepted my words. "Well then, goodbye."

Walking away, I heard his voice calling for me to come quickly and pay my debt.

"Yeah, like hell I would do that. It's time to find a cure in this so-called Land Between."
