Chapter 9: Treasures Inside the Chests (1)

As soon as the three chests were buried by the three kingsguard, Jon felt a force pushing him out. The next moment he found himself back in his body near the wierwood tree.

Jon felt completely exhausted and he felt on his knees gasping for breath. Seeing his condition, Slyvia ran up to him and held him by his shoulder.

"What happened to you suddenly?" She asked with a worried face.

Jon shook his head indicating that he was fine. He kept kneeling on the ground and taking deep breaths to recover from his exhaustion.

He took out his container and took large gulps of water to calm himself down further.

It took some time before Jon was able to fully regain his strength and be back on his feet.

After regaining his strength, the first thing Jon tried was to go back in the visions to see what had happened to the ravens and the horse riders his father, Rhaegar had sent to Ned stark.

But no matter how much Jon tried he could not go back into the visions. He felt as if some kind of force was blocking him from seeing the visions of past. He felt as if something was required to break apart this block and he was lacking that thing.

Jon could only sigh in defeat.

Meanwhile Slyvia kept staring at Jon with strange expressions wondering what he was up to. Jon chuckled seeing the strange expression emanating from Slyvia.

"Bring shovels from the tower," said Jon to Slyvia.

Slyvia again gazed at him strangely as if asking what is he planning to do.

"You will know soon," added Jon understanding what was she thinking.

Slyvia could only nod and walked towards the tower. She returned back some minutes later with two old rusted shovels in her hand. It was the same shovel which had been used to bury the chests.

Jon shook his head thinking that extra effort would be needed to dig up the chest with the condition the shovel was in.

He took one of the shovels and started to dig up. Slyvia followed and she also started to dig.

It took the duo slightly more than half a day when they finally saw the top of the chests.

Slyvia who was silent the whole silent wondering what she was digging for had an incredulous expression on her face. They dug some more around the chests and then pulled it out one by one.

Three chests lay in front of Jon. He was slightly excited wondering what could be in the three chests.

Without delaying any further, he walked towards the first chest and opened it up. What greeted Jon and Slyvia left them completely stunned.

The chest was filled up to the brim with gold coins. Soon Jon's shock turned into ecstasy and he let out a hearty laughter.

Upon closer observation, Jon noticed that these coins were pure gold not bearing the mark of any kingdom or king. Such gold coins were easy to trade and could be used anywhere in the world.

Slyvia could not hold herself, "How did it come up here? And how did you know about it? Are you having some kind of treasure map?"

Not wanting to do much explanation Jon simply nodded his head.

He proceeded further and opened the second chest. This chest was also filled with gold coins.

Though Jon was happy and excited he still felt a bit downcast. No doubts coins would be of great help in Jon's endeavour but he was expecting something else.

He then proceeded and opened up the third chest in anticipation.

The chest was almost empty and very few space of the chest was occupied.

Slyvia took two steps forward and leaned to look inside the chest.

Her eyes firstly caught two oval shape objects. The oval appeared to her to be some kind of stone.

She questioned, "What are those?"

Jon muttered slowly after few moments, "Dragon eggs."

Slyvia was taken aback and she asked in disbelief, "Dragon eggs?"

Both the eggs were a mixture of grey and black in colour with scales formed over them.

Although as a poor common folk, she was not much aware of historical events but legends of dragons were something known to all.

Jon did not answer her back and bent down and kept both his hands on the eggs and he immediately felt a unique connection with the eggs. Not only Jon felt a unique connection, he also felt as if something was stirring his blood. Jon felt that something was awakening his Targaryen bloodline within his body but it was being restricted. He had a hunch that whatever was happening would get complete when would hatch the eggs.

He removed his hand from the eggs and bent down further and picked up something from the chest. It was a long stick like object which was covered by a piece of cloth.

Jon removed the cloth two discover two sheaths with swords inside them.

Jon pulled the first and the bigger of the two swords. It was a longsword it rippled with a greyish colour.

Jon took no time to recognise the fabled Valyrian Targaryen sword of Aegon I Targaryen, used by him during the conquest, 'Blackfyre.' He had no idea how his father came into the possession of this sword. All the knowledge he had from the show did not talk about the Blackfyre.

Jon replaced it back and pulled the other and shorter of the two swords. Though it was also a longsword it was smaller than the Blackfyre and a bit thinner also. 'Dark Sister' the fabled Valyrian sword of Visenya Targaryen.

From the information Jon had, this sword was last known to have been possessed by Bryden Rivers, the current three eyed Raven.

Many non canon theories suggested that Bryden took the sword with him to the wall where he left it in the care of Aemon Targaryen, the blind maester of Castle Black before travelling beyond the wall.

Jon did not dwell much on this topic about how his father got these two swords and was feeling exhilarated about having two Valyrian swords.
