"The underworld, truly eroded by Ra?" he murmured, inspecting the fang.
"Yes," Nephthys confirmed, watching him closely.
"I understand," Amon said, a thoughtful look crossing his face.
"When will you act?" Nephthys pressed. She needed a definitive answer, not vague assurances.
"I will move once I have amassed enough power of faith," Amon replied, tucking the fang away. "Only then can we temporarily awaken Him."
"Go back and wait," he added, before disappearing as suddenly as he had appeared.
Nephthys stood alone once more, the encounter leaving her with mixed emotions. Relief mingled with anxiety. She was reassured that such a powerful god shared her goal, yet apprehensive about her own safety. There was no binding contract between them, nothing to ensure her protection.
She turned back to the empty expanse, the weight of her mission heavy on her shoulders.
After deciding to avoid contact, Nephthys left without looking back.
