Chapter 12: Forgiving
As soon as Edna saw her mom awake, she regained the color on her face and immediately ran towards Mary, jumping on the bed.
"Mom!"
She cried in her arms.
On the other hand, Mary was confused.
Her head was throbbing, and she had no memories of what had happened. The last thing she remembers is her going to sleep, and now she has suddenly been woken up by something wet and heavy hitting her face.
She doesn't understand why her daughter is acting like that nor why there are 2 other people she doesn't know.
"A-are you alright?"
That only made her frown at Edna.
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"Y-you disappeared a-and I couldn't find you and t-then a-and then.."
Mary could only slightly grasp the situation as her daughter's uncontrollable crying and hiccups didn't really help her. She hugged her back and gently patted her on the head.

Ertex never was one to express his feelings like that, having his own way of doing this, nor could he really digest seeing someone else expressing their own.
Sure, he liked hearing he has been missed and that he is loved, but only once. And even then he'll feel somewhat awkward.
The only reason he did not leave the room was because he still had to get his money, so he poured himself another glass of water.
"You want?"
"Sure, thank you."
He nodded, giving Arga the glass he held and taking another one.
While he slowly sipped, he took his time to actually check Mary since he wasn't in the mood last night.

Ertex was pulled out if his thoughts by the exact same person he was checking.

Finally calmed down, Edna presented him to her mother.

Before he could say anything, Mary got up and bowed.

Arga knew how Ertex was. She knew he will do something to Edna. She could only guess it won't be anything too bad, but he was unpredictable.
Maybe she will help him if she choosed to train Edna?
"Alright. Just follow us, I guess."
She choosed to do it.
"Where are we going?"
"Up?"
Ertex still has no clue how that place was called.
"But... my mom wasn't acknowledged."
Edna gripped her pants. She wanted to grow stronger, she wanted to not be useless anymore...
But there's no way she'll leave her mother behind. No was she'll leave just after she found her.

Even Mary was surprised. She only found out when she woke up.

Ertex just placed a finger on his lips.

Edna, full of happiness and once again at the varge of crying, tightly hugged her mother.
Mary giggled, hugging her daughter but not taking her eyes off Ertex.
"Hey."
"What now?"
He was once again stopped by Edna.
"I'm... sorry. I really shouldn't have spoken to you like that. The desperation got the better of me. I really am sorry!"
"... Alright."
"Did... Did you forgive me?"
"..."
He smiled.
"Of course!"
Arga glanced at her son. She smiled too.
She knew how Ertex was.
"By the way, how did you know how to get to that place?"
"... That's also a secret."
