Chapter 139: Chapter 138: Mentality (Edited!)

An average Human Adult has about 5.5 litre of blood in their body, enough to fill a small plastic bucket.

But in front of me, the entire floor is drenched in blood, hundreds of people dancing wildly, fully soaked in it. How many humans were drained to create this grotesque spectacle of a continuous shower of blood over such a large area?

Witnessing this madness unfold, I feel sick to my stomach.

There is even a sense of detachment washing over me, like I am viewing all of this from a third-person perspective, I had experienced something similar before when I was in my Astral state.

I see myself, wearing an unfamiliar face, standing by the washroom door, just a thin line separating me from the red-drenched world beyond.

Questions keep popping in my head: What am I doing here? In a foreign country, inside this underground lair, surrounded by these madmen, so very far from my loved ones. Why have I come here? Why did I join Elsa on this dangerous quest?

Was it to experience the thrill of Monster Hunting? Or was it to get closer to the hot, redhead? Or perhaps, deep down, it was my own twisted sense of justice, wanting to avenge these poor souls by ridding the world of monsters like these; to prevent anyone else from suffering the same fate.

But is that really the case? I don't know these missing people; I have only seen their profiles. I don't even speak their language. They are strangers to me. Around the world, how many such deaths occur every hour, every minute, every second?

Is it really worth risking my life to avenge them? To leave my luxurious, comfortable home, the safe embrace of my lovers, and plunge into a fight against unknown enemies and monsters just because the world sees me as a hero?

Sadly, that is not the reason I am here.

The truth is that after the Moloid fight and mt brief confrontation with the Brotherhood of Mutants, my Precognition powers kept showing me blurry visions of battles with what felt like insanely powerful beings. Knowing many future events of this Marvel universe, I didn't doubt these visions at all.

The next step was obvious, to prepare, train, and get stronger for these eventualities. But I am not a typical hero who progresses gradually. No I in fact have an incredibly broken mutant power—just by spending some lovely time with my increasingly growing harem, I can continuously become more powerful.

Although I still have to train and prepare, because of my convenient powers that is not the main concern I face right now. The real issue, my greatest weakness, is something that only recently came to my attention.

It was my Mentality.

In my previous life, before being reborn here in the Marvel universe, I was just an average person. Even after arriving in this dangerous world, I was lucky enough to have a loving mother and sister, a beautiful girlfriend, and recently, a long list of lovers who adore me. I have achieved immense wealth and power, even awakening a mutant ability that allows me to grow stronger with ease.

I have truly won the Isekai Jackpot!

But all of this has created a safe bubble around me, a comfort zone that hasn't necessarily made me weak or soft, just a bit complacent. I am not necessarily naive, as still when needed, I have committed murder without hesitation, like when I rescued Toni. So Brutality wasn't lacking in my mentality—it was something else.

What my mentality needs and lacks is sharpening. I need to experience much more for it to improve, so that I can make better decisions and choose the correct path. This situation here right now in front of me... it can be the perfect whetstone.

According to Elsa, a vampire's saliva contains an enzyme that gets transferred to a victim's body during a bite, if they die and have enough of that enzyme in their system it can slowly transform them into a vampire.

I myself had felt my Regenerative Healing power activate as soon as the foreign enzyme entered my body. In fact, Racquel bit me so many times that my healing power is still working overtime to remove all the enzymes. I wasn't aware that this would happen, but it's a fortunate coincidence.

But normal people aren't like me. They would have been converted into vampires in a single bite without a doubt, as evidenced by the hundreds of vampires before me.

Now, the main crux of the matter is: What should I do with them?

Kill them all? But I don't harbor an intense hatred for vampires. Thanks to the Twilight movies and other pop culture interpretations from my previous life, I can't even see them as true monsters.

I even just had sex with a hot vampire some minutes ago, and although Racquel sees humans as mere food sources and has likely killed or enslaved many of them before, I can't generalize her thoughts and views to all of her kind.

Most of these people in front of me must be victims themselves, struggling to resist the overwhelming thirst for human blood that comes with being a vampire.

So, should I spare them all? But seeing them drenched in so much human blood, harvested from countless lives, can I really do that?

Let them go? If I do, they will only create more vampires, causing more death and suffering.

Cure them? Can I even do that? They are proper undead, having died once already. The fact that they don't register in my Focus's scan is proof enough that curing them isn't that simple.

This is a unique moral quandary I have found myself in, and this kind of experience is exactly what I need. Only by going through these kinds of scenarios will my mentality improve, sharpen, and it will then allow me to figure out what kind of hero I truly want to be!

For now I still haven't made up my mind about what I should do with them all, maybe I will really have to vanquish all of them, as that is the only way out that seems feasible to me.

I already knew that I might face such a decision and that's why I had decided that Lucas or even Aeon are not going to be present here, whatever I decide and all its consequence will fall on another one of my masks.

It will be a new me, a completely new persona!

All these doubts, thoughts, and questions flashed through my mind in mere seconds. I take a step forward into the chaotic scene, my sense of detachment fading away as I inhale the metallic scent of blood saturating the air, the mind-numbingly loud music still blaring in the background.

Using a Forcefield above my head as an umbrella to shield myself from the shower of blood, I pull a sleek black mobile phone from my pocket.

"AHH Fresshh Bloodd!"

Some Vampires in the vicinity notice me straight away as they stop dancing and with red eyes plunge towards me.

Their movements are inhumanly fast—one of them reaching me in the blink of an eye, his body slick with blood, long claws glinting, and his fanged mouth gaping wide as he swipes at my head.

Though startled by his speed, my eyes still track him. I raise my phone-wielding hand to intercept his strike.

"Henshin"

The Black Mobile melds into my hand, as I activate my Metal Constructs ability. Black metal crawls over my skin, encasing my arm in a sleek gauntlet. The vampire's claws clash against my reinforced hand.

"Ugh!" I grunt, struggling to hold him back. His strength is unreal, far exceeding what I expected—even stronger than Captain Carter, whom I have sparred with before. But there is no time to dwell on it. With a swift movement, I pivot and drive a powerful kick into his chest, my now metal-covered leg propelling him back like a missile.

BOOM!

The force sends the vampire crashing into the others charging at me, knocking them back into the still-ignorant, dancing crowd. I am certain I crushed his ribcage with that strike.

"HISSS!"

Despite the collision, they rise unnervingly fast, hissing at me with fury. Even the one I kicked recovers with ease, despite his injuries. Elsa's warnings about their enhanced abilities flash in my mind: superhuman strength, speed, and regeneration. Yet these creatures seem far more potent than she described.

I theorise that the bloodbath they are indulging in is amplifying their power, and it is clear that these five vampires in front of me won't relent.

With a deep breath, I summon my energy. My entire body becomes encased in a Radiant Shield, and an Electric Aura crackles around me as the black metal suit completely envelops my body.

"It's time for my debut," I mutter, focusing on my Clairvoyance ability.

I raise my hand, a glowing orb of white fire forming in my palm. Holy Fire Magic—my ace against these creatures.

"Tonight, you will learn that you are not at the top of the food chain… I am.

APEX."

Chapter 140: Chapter 139: Battle at the Nightclub -1 (Edited!)

"It is time for my debut," I mutter, focusing on my Clairvoyance ability.

I raise my hand, a glowing orb of white fire forming in my palm. Holy Fire Magic—my ace against these creatures.

"Tonight, you will learn that you are not at the top of the food chain… I am.

APEX."

The vampires lunge towards me, their red eyes burning with savage hunger. I unleash the radiant ball of flame, splitting it into five smaller orbs under my control. Each one streaks toward a different vampire, hitting them squarely.

"AAAAHHH!!!"

All the five of them collectively let out loud desperate screams that pierce the air.

The first male vampire who was rushing gets the Flame ball right at his chest; from the point of impact the white flame starts to burn his chest and starts to expand covering his whole body.

"AHHH! IT BURNSSS!!" He screams in pain collapsing on the floor.

The second, third and fourth balls of fire impacts the male, female and male respectively straight on their faces "AGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!" They seem even more desperate as their whole face starts burning in white hot flames.

The last one hits the male whom I had kicked in the ribs, he tries to swat the flame ball with his right hand and hence is writhing on the floor in pain as his right hand is being devoured by my flames.

I myself am looking at all of this in shock, as I have never heard someone screaming in this much pain, their shrieks are echoing even over the deafening music.

Just as I begin to feel a bit bad from their loud pained screams, the first male's chest starts to turn into ash, the white flames eating away rapidly at his body.

The other three whose head were covered in flames collapse down on the ground and stop screaming as their heads start turning into cinders too.

The last male tries desperately to put out the flame with his other hand but it just results in that hand getting caught in fire too, and in just the next moments his hands start turning into ash as the fire keeps travelling along his body.

"AHHHHH ITTTT HURTSSS MAKE IT STOPPP PLEAASSEE!!!" He keeps on crying for help as his face distorts in agony. I form another smaller flame on my finger and send it to his face not wanting to torture him more.

As I watch his body disintegrate into ash, I gaze at the white flames in awe. I had believed that the Holy Fire Magic would be effective against vampires—after all, it bore the name "Holy"—but I never anticipated its sheer potency. While it wasn't instantly lethal, the agonizing, drawn-out pain they endured before death felt even more cruel than the act of dying itself.

All the five Vampires have died as just ash remained on the bloody floor as the proof of their existence.

"HISSSS!"

Suddenly, more hissing echoes from the crowd. Looking ahead I realize that this commotion has not gone unnoticed, as several vampires have stopped dancing and are staring at me with bloodlust in their eyes.

In the seating area nearby, I see a more twisted scene—vampires feasting and defiling humans, both males and females in a grotesque orgy, oblivious to the carnage around them.

Looking at how they were treating human beings as just blood bags and sex toys I felt anger and disgust swell within me.

"Let the Holy Flames cleanse you all," I say coldly. Ignoring the vampires charging at me, I form two big fireballs in my hands and hurl them toward the seating area.

There are dozens of vampires in this orgy with even some vampire ladies who look quite hot, but right now I had no thoughts of sparing them. With the help of Clairvoyance and some effort from me, I split the fireballs in dozen of smaller ones ensuring that they all get hit.

"AGHHHHHH!!!" What followed was a cacophony of screams of pain as the naked bloodied vampires get burned, with even their tits and cocks burning in the white hot flames.

"EEEAHHHH!" The handful of human men and women are snapped out of their trance as the vampires continued to perish. They screamed in horror and terror, frantically rushing towards a corner to escape the sight of the burning bodies.

"Fressshh Bloodd!!"

I had no time to assist them as a dozen vampires from the dancing crowd have surged towards me, their eyes locked on me, completely ignoring the burning corpses that writhed in agony.

With my Focus rendered useless, I couldn't determine the total number of vampires in the big dancing crowd behind them, but I guessed it was in the hundreds.

As I faced the dozen closing in on me and such a big crowd of vampires who have not attacked yet, I couldn't help but think about how I should have adhered to Elsa's original plan: to retreat after locating their nest, allowing both of us to launch a coordinated attack together.

But there was no point in dwelling on that now. I quickly retrieved a pill from my Utility Belt and swallowed the transparent capsule. It was NZT-48, a crucial aid in this situation, especially since my Focus wasn't providing much support.

My vision expands instantly, and I am able to immediately calculate the number of vampires in the crowd.

[Vampires: 530 | Humans: 50]

The number of humans were plummeting as the vampires continued to feast on the living, while dancing amidst the pooling blood.

"Bring it on, you fuckers!" I take a deep breath of the blood-soaked air, my hands igniting once more with holy flames.

Just as I am about to clash with them, the music abruptly stops, and the cascade of blood from the ceiling halts.

BOOM!

The nightclub door bursts open, and a man steps in, his black boots splashing in the blood. The room goes deathly silent at his arrival.

"Is that him?"

"No way... really?!"

"Shit!"

The crowd that were dancing and feasting crazily have stopped and are whispering in hushed breaths, while looking at the man wearing an all black attire, which matches his skin colour.

"It's the Daywalker!"

I recognise him instantly—Blade, the Daywalker.

An African-American superhero known for battling vampires in both movies and comics. However, my Focus reveals no trace of him, suggesting he might actually be a vampire himself.

"It really is him the Daywalker!"

The crowd of vampires rushing toward me begins to murmur in hushed, fearful tones. They speak of the Daywalker, a title given to Blade, who is a hybrid of human and vampire and can walk in sunlight.

Sunlight is a primary weakness for most vampires, as Elsa has pointed out, but not for Blade, which is what makes him so formidable.

Though his black sunglasses obscure his expression, I can sense that even he is taken aback by the sheer number of vampires gathered before him.

"He is here! Attack the Daywalkerrr!" The DJ on the second floor shouts, shattering the tension in the air. The hesitant, fearful vampires snap to attention, hissing as they rush toward Blade.

Bang! Bang!

The front two vampires drop abruptly as Blade pulls the trigger of his guns, their heads exploding from the impact. I know that normal bullets hardly affect vampires; even bullet holes and severed limbs do little to deter them.

Seeing the two vampires die instantly makes it clear that Blade is using silver bullets. According to Elsa, silver and garlic are like Kryptonite to vampires.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

To my surprise, the vampires on the second floor whip out their own guns and open fire on Blade from above!!
