Chapter 27: Chapter 26

At 6:49, Edward arrived at Horizon High School. After parking his car in the parking area, he made his way toward class 9 of grade 11.

The morning fog is slowly decreasing as the sun is rising, decreasing the cold.

In the campus of Horizon High School, students are gathered in small groups, chatting and laughing, walking together toward their classrooms. Edward looked outside from the classroom to look at the students.

Students from class 9 of grade 11 also gradually arrive at the classroom. They may be mischievous and noisy, but they are still students.

As long as they don't complete the mountain of their parents' expectations, no matter how unwilling they are, they have to come to school and attend classes.

And if they don't study well after coming to the school? Many parents directly blame the school and teachers for not properly teaching their children.

In fact, this is one of the reasons why no teacher wants to be the homeroom teacher of class 9 of grade 11.

It's tough, thankless, and comes with the risk of being teased by students. Who would want that?

"Edward Sir."

"Good morning, Edward Sir."

"Good morning, Edward Sir."

...

The students entering the classroom greet Edward, who is standing at the door, one by one. Edward responds with a smile to each greeting.

He believes that in another day or two, he will be familiar with all the students in the class.

After yesterday's evening self-study session, most students in class 9 of grade 11 have a favorable impression of Edward as their homeroom teacher.

Tall and handsome, with a good singing voice. Unlike the previous homeroom teacher who started with long lectures.

"Study hard, get into a good university in the future if you want to live a comfortable life." Their ears were almost deaf from hearing it.

Edward Sir is different. He immediately dismantled all the traps set by Jim. Just with this move, he impressed many students.

Then, he granted Keith and Mike the privilege of not attending classes. One was ordered to play games, the other was ordered to write a novel.

This made other students envious. Can you blame them for being envious of Keith and Mike? After so many years of schooling, they have never heard of a homeroom teacher allowing students to skip classes.

Edward respects everyone's interests and hobbies very much, and many students have felt this.

It is this respect that has created a strange feeling in the hearts of the troublemakers and underachievers of class 9 of grade 11. They seemed to have not received anyone else's approval and respect for a long time.

Later on, Edward's song "The Lone Brave" completely won them over.

At 06:58 Edward glanced at the clock in the classroom and then the number of students present in the class. He sighed as he had expected, all the students were not present in the morning session. Just as he was about to turn and start the morning session, he saw Miles, Samuel, and a few other students running towards the classroom out of breath.

A smile formed on his face as they were the students who were missing and Edward's method of stick and carrot worked.

"Morning, Edward Sir." Miles said while huffing from running.

"Sit on your seats, you are the last ones." Edward said with a smile while patting their back.

Class 9 of grade 11 has a total of 45 students, with 26 students boarding at school and 19 students commuting.

When he arrived at the classroom, most of the boarding students had already arrived and were seated in their place.

Miles and the others were among the latest to arrive. Jamie had already arrived in the classroom before Edward.

When Edward looked towards him, he saw Jamie burying his head low, with the books in front almost covering his face, making it hard for Edward to see clearly.

Edward shook his head, deciding to talk to Jamie later.

"Ring ring!"

At exactly 7 o'clock, the bell rang.

Edward stood on the podium, looking satisfied at the students below. All students of class 9 of grade 11 are present in the morning session.

This is absolutely a first in their history. God knows how hard these kids worked and fought for the freedom to move around during tonight's self-study session.

Last night, in various small groups of students on telegram and whatsapp, there were message after message. All for the purpose of having everyone present in the morning session. All for the purpose of freely doing anything during tonight's self-study session.

If they had this kind of energy for their academic subjects, how could they possibly be ranked last in the whole grade? But not long after, the smile on Edward's face froze as he looked at the students.

Some students barely read a few minutes before their voices gradually faded. Some students yawned one after another, their eyelids fighting to stay open.

Although all the students in the class were present, their state during the morning session was not much different from not being there at all.

The students of class 9 of grade 11 haven't really studied well throughout the semester. Now, when they picked up their textbooks, they instinctively started feeling sleepy.

Edward touched his nose and smiled bitterly. There was nothing he could do. He was a physical education teacher and not good at morning sessions. But suddenly he heard a voice in his head.

[Ding. Task Released: Morning Exercise.]

[Description: Take the students of class 9 of grade 11 to the ground for a run. If each student completes 3 laps, then the task will be completed.]

[Task Reward: Running Memory Technique]

[Running Memory Technique: Host can greatly enhance the students' memory abilities while they run.]

Upon hearing the system's voice, Edward was initially stunned, then delighted.

Isn't this running memory technique tailored for him as a physical education teacher? It not only exercises the students' bodies but also enhances their memory abilities, it was like killing two birds with one stone.

After observing the students below the podium, Edward cleared his throat twice.

"Cough cough. Everyone stop for a moment." Just as Edward said that all the students stopped reading and looked at Edward. This made Edward surprised as the students who didn't have energy to read books quickly reacted after hearing his voice.

The sound of reading in the classroom quickly disappeared. The students looked curiously at Edward, wondering why he asked them to stop.

"It's so cold today. Come, let's warm up on the ground."

Edward smiled and signaled Miles, "Sports Committee Member, lead the whole class to assemble on the ground."

After speaking, he walked out of the classroom first. As he left, the whole class was in a daze.

"What?"

"Edward sir asked us to assemble on the ground?"

"What's going on?"

"I don't know..."

"Is he making us run?"

"Huh? This..."

"Choose between morning reading and running, I'd rather run."

"Yeah, it's so cold today, a run will warm us up nicely."

"This is what I was talking about yesterday: the benefit of having a physical education teacher as a homeroom teacher."

…..

Miles did not expect that early in the morning, Edward would ask him to lead his classmates to the ground. But since he was the sports committee member, he naturally followed Edward's orders.

"Classmates, let's go to the ground." Miles said with a smile. He stood up first, waved his hand, and Samuel and the others around him stood up as well.

Among them, they were considered the most active. Rather than dozing off in the classroom, they couldn't wait to run on the ground.

"Let's go, let's go, let's go."

"It's time for PE class."

"Haha, believe it or not, this is the first time I've had PE class so early in the morning."

"Who would've thought, right?"

"Compared to morning study sessions, PE class is more fun."

"That's for sure."

….

With Miles and Samuel leading the way, the students of class 9 of grade 11 all left the classroom and headed towards the ground.

"What's going on here?"

"Are the students of class 9 of grade 11 up to something?"

"Not going to morning study, heading to the ground?"

"They're not having a PE class so early, are they? I also want to join them."

"Haha, shut up if you don't want to get punished."

...

Other students from different classes who saw the commotion in class 9 of grade 11 were also surprised.

"What new trick is Edward Sir up to again?"

Andrea, the head teacher of Class 10 of grade 11, frowned as she watched the students of class 9 of grade 11 pass by her classroom door, snorted lightly, and shook her head.

"Forget it, as long as it doesn't affect our students' learning, I can't be bothered with it."

Harry, who was patrolling the entire grade, happened to see the students of class 9 of grade 11 going toward the ground.

With a lot of questions in his mind, he quickly walked towards the direction of the students of class 9 of grade 11.
