Chapter 174: Cave Exploration III

"The bullets aren't working!" Johan shouted, frantically searching for an alternative. "Aoi, do you have anything for this?"

Aoi raised her staff, chanting under her breath. A bright light enveloped the staff before she fired a sphere of energy at the monster. The attack struck the creature's chest, leaving a small crack on its surface.

"Nice! Focus your attacks there!" Johan instructed, continuing to fire shots to keep the monster's attention.

The creature staggered slightly from Aoi's attack. It let out a louder rumble before raising its massive arms, firing shards of glowing stone like projectiles toward them. Johan and Aoi dove in opposite directions, barely avoiding the barrage.

"We can't keep this up," Aoi said, her breathing heavy. "Its energy is overwhelming. If we don't find a weak point soon, we're done for."
