Chapter 2: Ever-growing Sword
"So strong, the door is made of metal, to think that they managed to destroy it," Keith muttered as the three girls slowly charged towards him. Fortunately, their movements were slow, and with the added effect of Gift of Darkness, their speed posed no threat.
Keith ran towards the first zombie, stabbing it in the heart. However, the girl seemed unaffected by the attack. As he realized this, a swift claw strike came towards him. Thanks to his increased senses, he dodged it before the claw could reach him. The second and third girls tried to bite him, but he had already moved out of their reach.
Backing away from the girls, Keith went to the side of the bed and gave it a hard kick, sending the bed flying towards them. Two of the three girls were thrown and pinned down by the bed, while the third staggered a bit from the impact. Seizing the opportunity, Keith charged forward and swung his sword vertically at the head of the girl. She collapsed, and a white light entered Keith's body.
After killing her, he made his way towards the other zombies who were still struggling under the bed. Without wasting time, he stabbed their heads, and as white light entered his body again, a sweet voice rang in his mind.
"You've reached level 2. You have 5 points. Choose where you want to spend them."
"Agility: 3 points, Strength: 2 points."
"You're a lucky, greedy human. Since you're the first one to achieve level 2, you will receive a Unique Sword, 10 bonus stats, and a new skill."
After that voice disappeared, a sword and a book suddenly appeared in Keith's hands.
Evergrowing Sword (Level 1)

"Wow, this sword is amazing. It can grow on its own," Keith exclaimed as he marveled at his sword. He then learned the skill and began planning his escape.
"First, I must secure some resources," Keith thought. He scavenged the room and managed to fill his backpack with some clothes, three chocolate bars, and one bottle of water.
"I must save this bottled water since I don't know if the water is affected," he reminded himself.
"Now, how should I leave this place? This dorm has 15 floors and 20 rooms on each floor. The total number of students is 1000, but since it's Saturday and more than half of the students are outside, only 300-400 students stayed in the dorm today. Running from the 3rd to 1st floor, I'll encounter mostly 20-50 zombies, and I can only handle two zombies at once. If I get surrounded, it's the end for me. Luckily, some zombies outside are still busy eating other students. I should use this chance."
After planning, he headed to the hallway, where he saw some students being eaten and a few zombies looking for new victims. Three zombies noticed him and slowly walked towards him on the right side, while only two zombies were scattered near the stairs on his left.
"I can see the information of the enemy like this, and there's a red dot on its head, maybe indicating its weakness," Keith observed.
He made his way towards the zombies. The first one rushed at him, aiming for his arm, but with a twist, Keith avoided the claw and swung his sword at its head. It collapsed. The second zombie tried to leap at him, but with a few side steps and a swing at its head, it also collapsed. White light entered Keith's body, and 5 coins appeared on the floor. After picking up the coins, he immediately ran downstairs.
