Chapter 28: Liar

Sebastian's heart constricted, unconsciously, he raised his hand to touch her face, but Aurora seized it instead. She stripped off his black glove and sank her fangs into his palm.

Sebastian winced, his eyes trembling as he endured the pain. Her grip on his hand was powerful, fearful, as if she dreaded losing him.

He watched, mesmerized, as she drank, her thirst unquenchable.

Finally, she retracted her fangs, raised her head, and glared at him. Her burning eyes scorching his soul.

Aurora licked the blood from her lips, her voice low. "Do not stare at me like I am your dinner, Sebastian Devereaux."

She released his hand, her displeasure evident. "You disgust me."

Sebastian chuckled, shrugging. "How do you feel?"

"Active," Aurora muttered, biting her lower lip.

She glared at Sebastian, her eyes flashing with defiance. But his eyes burned with desire, making her feel vulnerable, submissive.

She hated it.
