Chapter 12: Chapter 12: The Monstrous Dex is Mine

(editor's note: good evening and sorry for the delay. My tibia was fragile by fracturing itself so I put a plaster cast on it properly to punish it, on that note, enjoy reading ^^)

I enter the underground, making as little noise as possible. Darkness envelops me as I advance cautiously.

Suddenly, I see a giant spider one meter long on the wall near me. It hasn't spotted me yet.

I press myself against the wall, holding my breath, my senses on alert. The spider seems busy, lurking in the shadows. Taking advantage of its inattention, I jump towards the ceiling with agility, my muscles tensing like springs.

With a quick and precise movement, I grab one of its legs, as big as me, and throw it towards the ground.

I hastily dodge a stream of acid as I see the five spiders moving with disconcerting speed. Their agility surprises me, even with my superhuman reflexes.

I throw myself into the battle, my movements quick and precise, trying to avoid the jets of corrosive acid. The spiders rush towards me, their menacing fangs shining in the darkness.

I manage to capture the other five that are still in the corridor, making my way among them with skill. I fear that few STARS will survive in this place if all the creatures are this strong.

I go to the first door I see but it is closed, I take advantage of the fact that no one can see me to break it down with a shoulder blow. I see three full pistol magazines as well as rifle cartridges.

I crush the skull of a hidden zombie with my foot before smashing the skull of the other. I must at least show Rebecca and Billy that I am cleaning the place.

I enter the adjacent room and see that it is a torture room. The stone walls ooze moisture, and cracks reveal unfathomable darkness.

On the ground, dark stains mark past abuse, like indelible scars in the stone. The instruments of torture are abandoned, covered in dust and rust, recalling the horror that once reigned in these places.

A heavy silence envelops the room, but the shadow of past cruelty still seems to float in the air, permeating every corner of this sinister abandoned room.

I almost vomit, a nauseating odor rises from the depths of the abandoned room, a putrid scent permeates the stagnant air. It is a mixture of mold and rot, similar to that of mass graves forgotten by time.

The metallic stench of coagulated blood also floats, mixed with acrid notes of sweat and fear frozen in the walls. However, I notice too late a camera that I hasten to destroy.

Thanks to the physical reinforcement that I have had, I clearly hear the sound of paws in the ceiling as I catch the monkey that tries to take me by surprise. I explode it on the ground before immobilizing it even if it is almost dead from my projection.

T-virus mutation or eliminators successfully absorbed available in the factory

1 eliminator will be produced every 24 hours. You have 5 Eliminators directly in the factory.

You will be able to instantly subdue any eliminators that are not under your control with a simple touch.

I remember these monkeys but from what I remember, they are more powerful than the hunters and have great resistance.

In the distance, detonations resound, tearing the oppressive silence of abandonment. Each gunshot is like a sinister echo, announcing imminent danger. My heart races, driven by the urgency of the situation. Without hesitation, I rush through the dark corridors, my footsteps echoing on the stone slabs like a deadly drum.

Fear tightens my throat as I imagine my teammates prey to these monsters.

I burst out of the tunnel to see Rebecca wounded behind Billy, who is struggling with several Eliminators similar to the one that attacked me.

I pull out my magnum and shoot the one that leaps at Billy in the head, quickly following up with the other two. But it is too late, Rebecca and Billy have been bitten before I arrive.

"Gerald, am I going to die?" Rebecca asks weakly, as I approach her. She looks at me with eyes filled with anguish, her shaking hand grasping mine.

I smile at her, trying to offer her some comfort. Then, without a word, I bite her wrist.

Her eyes widen in surprise at my gesture, but she doesn't say anything. She's already too weak to form any more words.

"No, Rebecca, you're not going to die," I tell her softly, stroking her hair, as she closes her eyes, seeming to accept her fate.

Then, I turn to Billy, my heart heavy. "Billy, I'm not going to lie to you, but you've been infected too, so I have no choice," I tell him, my voice thick with emotion.

I take his rifle from his hands before biting his hand as well.

"Ouch! Gerald, what are you doing?" he shouts, pulling his hand away in a sudden gesture, as Rebecca begins to get up, her wounds healing before his eyes.

I quickly mark her by imposing a confusing visual suggestion to confuse Billy, which amounts to subjugating him without taking him into the factory.

"Gerald?" she asks, confused, "I'm alive, how?"

I'm as perplexed as she is, because normally, the first reflex of Zombie G is to call me Master.

"I carry a gene that is transmitted through my saliva, capable of stopping certain viruses," I explain to her. "I tried with you and Billy, because you hadn't yet taken your last breath. Billy, come so I can finish the procedure so that you don't become one of them."

He is reluctant, but finally, he approaches and lets me subdue him as well. However, like Rebecca, he does not consider me as his Master.

"Thank you," he finally declares in a tense voice. "Take these, civilian clothes," he adds, handing me a bag containing clean and dry clothes. "It will change you from your rags. " he said with a smirk

I nod gratefully and quickly change, leaving the STARS in relative safety, at least for now.

DING

You have granted immunity to the T-Virus to the individuals named "Rebecca" and "Billy", they did not become G Zombies due to their emotional closeness to you.

You can choose to cure the infections if you have collected enough samples of monsters of the same virus.

I guess it's for the best, at least I won't have to treat everyone like my puppets, too bad for Richard since I didn't have enough monsters at that point.

"Can you cover me while I change," I asked, as Billy and Rebecca nodded. I pulled off my ripped shirt, exposing my muscular torso, which made Rebecca blush.

"UH," I said, clearing my throat, as Rebecca finally turned around, visibly embarrassed. I finished changing quickly. Luckily, the pants were sweatpants, so I wouldn't be hindered in my movements.

"Thanks," I said, pulling on the new shirt. "Well, we better get moving before things get any more complicated."

Billy nodded, already ready, as Rebecca nodded, her cheeks still a little pink.

"Let's go," he stated. "We still have work to do." »

"I normally cleared this passage but there are some ammunition and some trinkets that could be useful to you" I said pointing to the passage behind the painting as we separated again.

Fortunately, I am reassured that both are immune to the T virus so there will be no risk as long as it does not fall on monsters too powerful. Now that I think about it, I have not yet come across a leech zombie?

I go through the door leading to the basement before inspecting further, I kill a giant spider a sword to inform my two companions of the danger before continuing to break down all the doors I encounter. Not really any powerful enemies or interesting things.

A few spiders that I manage to capture by surprise as well as two fairly weak Plague Crawlers. After inspection, I come across what seems to be a security post in addition to the armory.

I quickly picked up several assault rifles, storing them in my inventory. I strapped a shotgun and a grenade launcher to my body to give to Billy and Rebecca, just for safety.

From the security booth, I could see grenade launcher ammo and a key. I jumped through the broken window and climbed over the barriers. The key was stuck behind a steel grate, but there was a switch.

"No need to bother," I thought as I flipped the lever.

"Combat sequence initiated," a robotic voice said. "Door locking," it added as metallic clangs indicated the barriers were moving.

Suddenly, two Hunters appeared in the area where I was, their menacing claws gleaming in the dim light of the security booth.

"Damn, I forgot about you guys," I muttered as I watched the first Hunter leap at me, his claw ready to tear me apart. I skillfully dodged his attack, placing myself to the side, then threw him against a wall. With a quick movement, I broke one of his legs to reduce his mobility.

I rushed towards the second Hunter who managed to cut me with his enormous claw.

"Fuck, not again" I cried out seeing my new T-shirt cut and stained with my blood.

Despite the pain, I managed to knock him to the ground by making him plant his claws in the ground. His roars filled the room, echoing against the walls as I prepared to finish him off.

I execute the one I had crippled before grabbing the key now accessible, the body will justify the degradation of my clothing style I thought.

I look around me before sighing. "I'm starting to get a little lost in this stupid place." I shouted while holding my head.

Unlike the game, I don't have a map to find my way, at worst, I can just accompany Billy and Rebecca by pretending to be a little tired.

I go back up to the hall where I see the two who are about to get off where I came from. I hand them the rifle and the grenade launcher before asking them.

"Gerald, are you okay?" Rebecca asked hurriedly.

I remember the state of my T-shirt before smiling sadly. "Yes, I'm fine, I just had a run-in with a nimble creature, it's not my blood, as you can see" I say, showing my completely intact torso. "Above all, be very careful with the wall and ceiling, there are giant spiders here"

"Okay, we'll be careful" Billy tells me as he arms himself with the rifle to be prepared for any possible encounter. Rebecca keeps her pistol in hand but the grenade loop is installed on her shoulder, facilitating the quick change of weapon if necessary.

"I found a key earlier, you wouldn't have come across a door with this kind of pattern" I say, showing them the symbol on the key.

"I saw it" Rebecca says. "It's close to where the giant centipede is.

"I hope we don't run into any more monsters like that," Billy added, his voice thick with anxiety.

"Cool" I thought to myself, maybe I'll let them do what they want, I still need to get my hands on a regular leech zombie and a Lurker so I should go to the new areas first.

"There's an armory down there, see if you need anything. Don't hesitate to take more, even if it means getting rid of them afterwards," I tell them before moving away towards the area indicated by Rebecca.

I quickly move on as the two go down to the basement. I arrive in a small room where two giant cockroaches are waiting for me.

I explode the head of the first with one of my Tonfa, then I recover the other with a simple touch.

The main reason for leaving part of the bodies is twofold.

"To allow Rebecca and Billy to stay on their guard when seeing the dead creatures and maybe blackmail Umbrella if I think about recovering a few corpses when I'm done here." I thought before using the key to open the blue door with an oak pattern.

I walk through the door quietly but I jump when a slimy mass hits my head. I pull myself together before punching this damn zombie Leech. 10 Leech falls from his body under my blow before I absorbs them quickly.

I try to grab the creature to retrieve it in my factory but it is too slimy and when I apply force, I tear leeches from its body.

I hate to do that but I end up hugging it and letting it hit me, disgusted by the viscosity of the creature.
