Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Defeating Enel

As Daniel gently pressed his right hand against a massive boulder about six meters tall and three meters wide, he gave it a slight push forward. There was a loud crash, and the boulder shattered into pieces, scattering around.

"Sure enough, the power of the Reject Dial is truly astonishing," Daniel thought, looking at the fragmented rock.

"Just the side effects are a bit too much." The backlash from the Reject Dial was immense. Even with Daniel's current strength, his arm felt the impact. If an ordinary person had used it, their arm would likely have been destroyed.

As Daniel traveled across various sky islands, he acquired quite a bit of shell technology. Everyday items like Lamp Dials and Water Dials were easy to collect, and he bought a lot of them using gold and silver along the way.

However, combat-related shells were different. Such items were not openly sold on sky islands. But in this age, as long as you have money, there's nothing you can't buy. You can even purchase nuclear bombs from Russia, although they might be of lower yield. Not to mention, Daniel had both wealth and strength, making it impossible for anyone to rob him.

Along the way, he collected Heat Dials, Wind Dials, Impact Dials, and even managed to acquire a Reject Dial from a sky island noble.

"The spatial technology of these shells is interesting. Why choose shells as the medium?"

Curious about shell technology, Daniel stayed on the sky islands longer than usual to learn about their manufacturing methods.

"Birka... Enel, that guy is truly evil. Did he destroy Birka to obtain something, perhaps the Infinite Earth? Maybe I should use the Quinjet to check out the moon."

From what Daniel gathered, most combat-related shells, such as the rare Slash Dial and Reject Dial, were only produced in Birka. But with Birka destroyed, this technology might be lost.

Another possibility was that Enel knew how to make these shells. The power of the Goro Goro no Mi aside, Enel was quite technologically advanced. Otherwise, how could he have built the flying golden ship? More importantly, why did he go to the moon?

"Seems like there's a high-tech city on the moon, along with some peculiar robots and space pirates." Recalling what Enel encountered on the Infinite Earth, Daniel couldn't help but set his sights on the moon.

"I remember the Quinjet can travel to space, but it seems outdated. Maybe I should contact SHIELD or Hydra for a new model."

While SHIELD's Quinjets maintained the same basic model, their materials and technology varied, leading to differences in performance.

"Looks like I need to visit the sky island under Enel's control." With a decision made, Daniel left the sky island and returned to the Blue Sea, heading towards Gaya Island.

One benefit of being one of the Shichibukai was access to the complete map of the first half of the Grand Line and permanent pointers to various locations.

Gaya Island was a pirate haven controlled by the Hyena Bellamy, who in turn was under Doflamingo's control. Bellamy was a loyal subordinate of Doflamingo, although he was later abandoned by him.

"The Spring-Spring Fruit, huh?" Floating above Gaya Island and looking down at the city, Daniel pondered. With his current strength, taking down Bellamy and obtaining the Spring-Spring Fruit would be easy.

However, Daniel wasn't particularly interested in the Spring-Spring Fruit. Although theoretically, there were no weak Devil Fruits, only users who didn't know how to utilize them.

"Come to think of it, Luffy later became friends with Bellamy." Daniel muttered to himself, then flew into the sky.

For now, he didn't need the Spring-Spring Fruit. Moreover, this was within Doflamingo's territory. While Daniel wasn't afraid of being discovered, there was no need to complicate matters.

"Is there a war going on?" Arriving at Apayado, the sky island under Enel's rule, Daniel saw a battle at first glance. The Shandians were fighting against Enel's priests.

"Room." Standing outside the island, Daniel expanded the range of his Ope Ope no Mi ability to the maximum. In some ways, the operating room of the Ope Ope no Mi acted like Kenbunshoku Haki for Daniel. His current Kenbunshoku Haki range was still far from the range of his operating room.

"They're all using shell technology." The combatants were using various shells like Wind Dials, Breath Dials, and Cloud Dials.

Enel had four priests who set up trials on the green island, inviting others to challenge them. This was purely Enel's twisted pleasure. Otherwise, with his power to destroy the sky island, he could have easily wiped out the Shandians.

"Who are you? This is Mantra." As Daniel observed the battle through his Ope Ope no Mi, a flash of lightning suddenly appeared before him, and a figure materialized.

With a bare upper body, drums marked with tomoe on his back, and holding a golden staff in his right hand, it was Enel, the wielder of the Goro Goro no Mi.

"Quick arrival. As expected of someone who can cover the entire sky island with his Mantra. From what he said, he can sense the operating room of the Ope Ope no Mi?" Seeing Enel's appearance, Daniel took a step back and withdrew the power of his Ope Ope no Mi.

At this moment, Enel looked extremely lazy, sitting cross-legged and floating in front of Daniel. His golden staff leaned against him, and he tilted his head, smiling faintly at Daniel.

"He didn't attack me immediately. Looks like I can take him by surprise." The difference in information and Enel's arrogant nature made Daniel consider testing him. If Enel had attacked immediately, Daniel would have used Shunshin to escape.

But since Enel didn't attack out of arrogance, there might be an opportunity.

"So, you're the ruler here, the god." Daniel finally spoke.

"You don't look like someone from the sky islands." Enel maintained his lazy demeanor.

"I'm from the Blue Sea. I ended up here by accident. Didn't expect to find a god here. Quite a surprise."

"Oh, there are no gods in the Blue Sea?" Enel chuckled.

"No."

Daniel lied. The Celestial Dragons claimed to be the descendants of the creators and often called themselves gods.

"That's a shame. Looks like I need to spread the glory of god there." Enel said arrogantly.

"You go there, you'll probably be beaten to doubt your existence." One Luffy was enough to humble him, let alone the numerous powerful individuals in the Blue Sea.

"You must be quite strong, being a god." As Daniel spoke, he punched Enel. Enel seemed to have anticipated this and smiled at Daniel, sitting still.

As expected, Daniel's attack passed through Enel's body, just like in the original story where Bruno's attacks couldn't touch Kizaru. Without using Busoshoku Haki, Daniel's attack naturally had no effect.

"Impossible." Seeing his attack had no effect, Daniel's expression changed, and he kicked Enel, again with no result.

"You've disrespected a god. Now, you shall face divine punishment." Enel said, raising his golden staff, ready to strike.

At that moment, Daniel swiftly moved and cuffed Enel's arm with a seastone handcuff, then punched him in the head, sending him flying.

Watching Enel fly away, Daniel used Soru to pursue him. In Enel's shocked and disbelieving eyes, he activated the power of the Ope Ope no Mi.

"Room, Slaughterhouse." He instantly severed Enel's other three limbs, leaving only the arm with the seastone handcuff.

"So-called god, this is all you are." Looking at the fallen Enel, Daniel sneered.

The previous battle had made him somewhat nervous. As expected, Enel's arrogance had led to his downfall, allowing Daniel to take advantage.

"You." Enel tried to use his remaining arm to activate his powers, but his face changed as he found his abilities gone.

Without the power of the Goro Goro no Mi, Enel was just a weakling. Despite having Logia's intangibility, he had been hit multiple times by Luffy and even ambushed by a Shandian warrior using a seastone and Reject Dial. If it weren't for his ability to use electricity to heal himself, Enel might have been killed.

Daniel dared to confront him precisely because of this.

"A Logia Devil Fruit's power made you think you were a god. How laughable. There are countless abilities like yours in the Blue Sea." Daniel exaggerated, though Logia fruits were indeed rare.

"You." Enel was furious, his eyes bulging.

"Just a man playing god in a remote place with the power of the Goro Goro no Mi. Do you even realize how vast the world is? Dealing with Devil Fruit abilities is simple. One way is seastone, like what you're wearing now. Another is Haki." Daniel said, turning his right fist black with Busoshoku Haki.

"I was just toying with you before." Daniel said, expanding his Mirror Dimension and pulling Enel inside.

"Now be honest. Tell me everything you know. Why did you destroy Birka? What is the Infinite Earth?" In the Mirror Dimension, Daniel began interrogating Enel.

"How do you know about the Infinite Earth?" Enel was shocked.

"I know more than you think. Now, spill it."

"Do you think I'll tell you?"

Enel was surprisingly resilient, un

afraid of death.

"I'll make you talk." Daniel began to hypnotize Enel.

"Damn, strong Kenbunshoku Haki. Hard to hypnotize." Daniel found it difficult but didn't give up, adding the power of the Ope Ope no Mi.

"So, this is Birka's secret. No wonder he destroyed Birka to keep it to himself. His vision is indeed grander than Roger's."

Roger was merely the Pirate King of this planet, while Enel had set his sights on the universe.

"Maybe someday the world of One Piece will become the story of a space pirate king." Knowing Birka's secret, Daniel made Enel reveal all his knowledge before killing him and retrieving the Goro Goro no Mi.

"This fruit could be given to Ada. Maybe I should go back and bring Ada here." Holding the Goro Goro no Mi, Daniel thought.

With Ada's intelligence, she could fully exploit the potential of this fruit.

"Remember there's a Poneglyph here. I could bring it to Robin." The sky island had a Poneglyph with inscriptions left by Roger.

Ignoring the ongoing battle, Daniel flew to the top of the island where Enel's treasures were stored: a large amount of gold from the City of Gold Shandora and the golden ship, Ark Maxim, that Enel had built.

The golden ship was forged by Enel using his Goro Goro no Mi powers to smelt gold bit by bit.

As for the Poneglyph, Enel hadn't cared about it, seeing it as just a stone with unreadable inscriptions.

"Seems there's a guy down below trying to salvage gold to prove his ancestor's words weren't lies."

Recalling the story of the North Blue's liar king and his own memories, Daniel shrunk the golden ship with Pym Particles and collected the remaining gold before swinging a large golden pillar to strike the giant golden bell.

This bell was something Enel had intended to place on his ship.

The sudden ringing echoed throughout the sky island, halting the battle as both sides turned to the sound. The Shandians were thrilled and rushed forward.

The golden bell was a sacred relic to the Shandians, and its ringing had profound significance for them.

The priests were anxious, knowing the bell shouldn't be ringing because their god Enel was supposed to be there.

These priests had witnessed Enel's power, including the lightning that destroyed Birka, which they saw as divine miracles.

With the bell's ringing, a figure dressed as a knight on a pegasus flew toward the green island.

"This... Impossible. Get the boss out of the sea." Pirates on the shores of Gaya Island were also excited, shouting for their leader, saying they had found it.

"This will allow the Revolutionary Army to acquire some sky island equipment. But this might also draw their attention to the sky island, disturbing its peace."

"Well, we'll deal with that later."

Thinking this, Daniel opened a golden portal and returned to the underground base in Rainbase.

"So, it's you, Admiral Aokiji."

Chapter 171: Chapter 171: Connecting the Nine Realms (Part 1)

Originally, Daniel intended to find Robin to show her the Poneglyph he had just brought back from the sky island. However, when he arrived at the office in Rain Dinners, he unexpectedly encountered an unusual guest: Admiral Aokiji.

At that moment, Aokiji was leisurely sitting on a sofa, his blindfold covering his eyes, seemingly asleep. Opposite him stood a trembling Robin, her eyes filled with fear. It was unclear whether her terror stemmed from the sheer presence of the Admiral or something else. In this world, the title of Admiral carried a weight similar to that of the Four Emperors, and few were ignorant of its significance.

Seeing Admiral Aokiji, Daniel gave Robin a reassuring look before calmly sitting opposite the Admiral. Daniel was well aware of the strength an Admiral possessed; he was not as naive about power as Luffy and his friends.

"This guy has always been protecting Robin, but unfortunately, she fears him the most." Aokiji's actions, known only to him, were hidden from Robin, who only saw him as the man who had frozen her best friend before relentlessly pursuing her.

"Aren't you quite the intimidating figure, Admiral? My secretary is scared stiff," Daniel remarked after observing Aokiji.

Simultaneously, he pondered why Aokiji had come here.

"You just got back?" Aokiji finally removed his blindfold, giving Robin a brief glance before focusing on Daniel.

"Was this guy using Kenbunshoku Haki to observe his surroundings the whole time?" As an Admiral, even though Aokiji primarily relied on his Devil Fruit abilities in battle and seldom showcased his physical prowess, Daniel wouldn't underestimate his mastery of Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki. With an Admiral's level of strength, Aokiji could easily cover Rainbase with his Haki even if he had been sleeping. If he had been using Haki to monitor his surroundings, Daniel's sudden appearance might lead Aokiji to suspect spatial abilities.

"Yes, I had some matters to handle outside," Daniel responded nonchalantly about the potential exposure of his spatial abilities. He didn't mind too much, as it was bound to happen eventually.

"Do you even know who your secretary is?" Aokiji asked, his gaze shifting back to Robin, causing her to shiver again.

"I know very well who she is, the survivor of Ohara, who has been on the run since she was young due to some people's actions. But she can rest easy now because here, she is absolutely safe."

Daniel's words stunned Robin. For years, she had never heard anyone talk about protecting her. Most people who associated with her did so to exploit her knowledge or abilities.

"Do you really think your mere Shichibukai status can protect her? Do you even know who she's involved with?" Aokiji's tone turned icy, and an imposing aura filled the room.

Robin's identity was crucial. If not for Aokiji's covert protection, she might have been captured long ago.

"I am well aware of who she's involved with. But under my protection, no one can harm her," Daniel declared, his gaze hardening.

Worst case, he could take Robin and leave this world. He didn't believe the World Government, Celestial Dragons, or Imu could chase them across dimensions.

"You seem quite confident." Aokiji's voice turned cold as wisps of icy air emerged from him, quickly freezing the glass table between them and extending towards Daniel.

"Does this guy have issues?" Daniel thought, somewhat speechless. Although he suspected this might be Aokiji's way of testing him, similar to how he tested Luffy and his friends, Crocodile didn't seem to face such trials. Why the double standard? He could have come in a few years.

"Are you implying the Navy intends to attack a Shichibukai?" Daniel asked, placing his right hand on the frozen table. Instantly, the ice vanished, turned into air by his alchemy.

He couldn't freeze the entire sea like Aokiji, but reversing a small area and a glass table was well within his capabilities.

Seeing the ice disappear instantly, Aokiji's eyes showed a hint of seriousness. But he didn't attack further, possibly due to Daniel's words about the Navy attacking a Shichibukai or Daniel's displayed strength.

"Regardless of her past, Robin is now under a Shichibukai's protection. I remember the rights of a Shichibukai." Pirates under a Shichibukai's banner had their bounties revoked once they gained the status. This authority was granted by the World Government, and as long as it wasn't revoked, the Navy couldn't act against them.

After serving as a Shichibukai for some time, Daniel understood how the balance was maintained among the Navy, Shichibukai, and the Four Emperors. The Shichibukai system wasn't just a measure against pirates; it was also a restriction on the Navy. The Navy, as a unified force, could easily gather most of its strength to crush a single Yonko crew. If the Shichibukai didn't act as a balance, the Navy could, with determination, annihilate a Yonko crew.

In the War of the Best, only Admiral Akainu fought with all his might against Whitebeard. Despite Whitebeard's old age and injuries, the Navy had two Admirals holding back, a Hero of the Navy, a Fleet Admiral, and several Admiral candidates. This world remained in chaos because it suited the World Government or the Celestial Dragons. A unified sea would inevitably challenge their authority.

If someone unified the sea, the next target would undoubtedly be the Celestial Dragons. No ruler would tolerate someone above them.

Similarly, if the Navy eliminated most threats, the World Government would struggle to control them like watchdogs.

This seemed like a classic "keep your enemies closer" strategy, but on a global scale. Otherwise, with the World Government and Navy's power, the seas wouldn't have remained chaotic for 800 years.

Given this world, Daniel couldn't understand why Roger helped the Navy and World Government against the legendary pirate Rocks. In his view, Rocks ruling the world might be better than the Celestial Dragons. Without addressing the root issues, the Navy's justice was a farce. Even saving countless people wouldn't fundamentally change this world.

Though Daniel despised the Shichibukai system, he acknowledged the benefits it brought him. As long as the World Government didn't revoke his status, the Navy wouldn't dare act against him, despite their discontent with the Shichibukai system.

"I'm just passing through. Things have certainly changed since Crocodile was here," Aokiji said, returning to his usual lazy demeanor as if the earlier tension had never happened.

"Of course," Daniel replied.

Despite claiming not to interfere much with Alabasta, it was impossible for him to be completely hands-off. His influence had already brought significant changes to the kingdom.

Firstly, Crocodile, to build his reputation, had allowed or even hired pirates to cause trouble. But Daniel would not permit that. Although pirates on the Grand Line were formidable, most couldn't withstand gunfire, let alone his subordinates with Devil Fruit abilities.

After eliminating many troublemaking pirates, the port city of Nanohana rarely saw disturbances. Alabasta was also undergoing reforms, thanks to Daniel's suggestions. The kingdom was modernizing its commerce and industry, and utilizing unique local creatures like the Supersonic Duck Squadron and Running Lizards for tasks like deliveries.

Rain Dinners also saw changes. While it still catered to pirates, Daniel enforced strict no-fighting rules, unlike Crocodile.

"Why is Admiral Aokiji here?" News of Aokiji's presence in Rainbase spread quickly, causing many pirates to leave, reducing the city's population by over 40%.

If it were still Crocodile's Rainbase, the exodus would have been closer to 70%.

"How long do you plan to stay here? At this rate, my business will suffer," Daniel remarked, exasperated by the impact of Aokiji's presence. Yet he couldn't just kick him out.

Robin, though still tense around Aokiji, was less terrified than before, perhaps due to Daniel's earlier reassurances.

"I understand. I'll leave now," Aokiji finally said, standing up. He wasn't leaving because of Daniel's words but because his superior had called about an incident somewhere.

After becoming a Shichibukai, Daniel realized how insignificant that status was in the grand scheme. Apart from a few like Mihawk, Doflamingo, and Kuma, most Shichibukai were easily replaceable. The New World's countless powerful pirates, many who survived clashes with the Yonko, were far stronger than most Shichibukai.

Every year, the Supernovas emerged, with over half perishing in the New World. Those who survived had the potential to become great pirates.

"That Ace guy is really making a name for himself," Daniel mused, glancing at the latest wanted poster. Ace had the highest bounty among the seven Supernovas this year. According to reports, he had caused significant damage to the Navy using his Mera Mera no Mi powers, destroying numerous warships.

Under Robin's leadership, Baroque Works had further developed, extending its influence beyond the first half of the Grand Line to the Sabaody Archipelago. Unlike Crocodile, who had abandoned his intelligence networks in the New World after being defeated by Whitebeard, Daniel intended to expand his reach.

He planned to visit Caesar's island to understand the manufacturing of artificial Devil Fruits. If possible, he would anonymously tip off the Navy to destroy the operation, causing trouble for Doflamingo.

For now, Doflamingo and Kaido were too formidable for Daniel to confront directly.

"This is the Poneglyph from the sky island." Leaning against a

large stone block in the underground base, Robin was visibly excited. Daniel's earlier words to Aokiji had seemingly changed her attitude towards him, shifting from a superior-subordinate relationship to something more.

"Ace, what are you thinking?" Ace's rise to fame troubled Vice Admiral Garp, who had hoped his grandsons would become Marines. Preoccupied with work, he had failed to notice both Luffy and Ace being influenced to become pirates. Luffy, inspired by Shanks, wanted to be the Pirate King, much to Garp's dismay. Ace, who had once despised pirates, becoming one left Garp speechless.

"I hope his identity remains a secret," Garp could only pray.
