Chapter 3: Chapter 2: camp life
Ed saw two men one who he recognised his father in a throne room and another man wearing a blue suit with a long beard staring down each other , "you will regret this Zeus , I might not be able to anything to you personally but your daughter will suffer" He said as Ed woke up in a cold sweat , sitting on the bed it looked like he was in some sort of infirmary , as he was about to get up he was pushed down on to the bed by a boy with yellow hair a blue eyes
"Don't get up now you still have not recovered from the injuries you sustained in your fight , hi I'm lee fletcher" Ed who was still recovering asked "flee fletching" to which lee chucked and gave him some ambrosia and nectar , after a minute all his memories started coming back as he remembered everything from last night as he leans back to numb the incoming head ache, tears flew out of his eyes as he remembered the death of his only two friends
Before he could tear up more lee ruffled his hair and said " hey don't worry about your friends they are in Elysium happy" he said , after Ed calmed down lee told him that Chiron wanted to speak to him
As he got out of the infirmary, he saw two men playing cards as he walked there " hello my name is Edward Cadmus" he introduced himself
"can you talk later emand candy Im trying to play here" a man with shaggy gray hair and beard said as he was drinking diet coke
"ah hello Edward my name is chiron and this is Mr.D come ill show you around" said a man sitting on a wheel chair with fair skin , Mr.D protested as he wanted to finish the game as they walked Edward saw the lands of the camp from the volleyball court to the cabins , as they walked Ed was getting stared at by a lot campers
"I assume you know of our world Edward , you are not shocked by anything, I assume you know your godly parentage, can you tell me " Chiron asks looking at Ed
"yes I know of this world , my father had me raised by a few of his subordinates in the underworld , as it is ruled by my father" this shocked and horrified as lightning boomed in the sky
"so your father broke the-"Edward cut him off by saying "not quite as my mother is a child of Hecate so I'm 3/4th god so I 'am not a part of the prophecy or the oath" he said as they reached the Hermes cabin he went in and was stared by most ignoring it he takes a bunk and takes a nap.
By night , we went to the mess hall for dinner as Ed sat down and got a coke and pasta after dinner , Mr D stood up and Mr D got up with a huge sigh. "Yes, I suppose I'd better say hello to all you brats. Well, hello. Our activities director, Chiron, says the next capture the flag is on Friday" as every one cheered
"Personally I couldn't care less. Also, I should tell you that we have a new camper today. Edward Cadmus" as Ed was claimed as a three headed dog appeared over him and a dark shadow covered him as when it left he was wearing a dark suit as cabin emerged from the ground near the forest
" it is determined the rich one , the unseen one ,the hospitable one Hades god of the underworld All hail Edward Cadmus son of hades descendant of Cadmus founder of hades" Chiron said as everyone kneeled ,
[time Skip next Day] Ed's pov
I was moved to the now named cabin 13 , it was the same cabin I lived in when I was staying in the underworld and it had all my clothes books and other h items , as I walked out for a walk near the hill I was stared at by everyone 'great first day here and I am the social pariah thanks dad' as I walked near the big house seeing Chiron and mr d who I learnt was Dionysus were playing cards as I came near chiron gestured for me to sit next to him
"ah if it isn't our little celebrity don't expect me to bend over backwards because you are old corpse breaths son " he say as he continues to play
"don't mind him edward he is just irritated this morning , also as the hades cabin has come you are its counsellor so you have to attend the meeting to divide into teams for capture the flag" after which I booked the training area for 1 hour
Going to the field I tried to remember that night when I came to the night , I remembered that , subconsciously I had placed my negative emotions together with magic and shadows , as I remembered that , I did it putting my mind and focus in it, suddenly a wolf type creature with four eyes standing on two legs with huge paws appear from the shadows , It started licking my hand as I pet it and sent it back to the shadows.
I started practicing with my scythe and lost vane. after finishing the training I went to the washrooms, After washing myself I left to go attend the councellor meeting
[Councellor meeting room ] no ones pov
As everyone trickled into the room after the final person entered the room Chiron spoke up
"ah finally everyone is here now lets start the selection of teams , this time the Athena cabin will be against Ares the first pick goes to Ares"
A bulky boy spoke up he was black with black hair and red eyes
"we will take hades"
This shocked most as they did not think hades would get selected first , 'he took me huh' ed thought as he looked at the boy and the boy looked back as ed nodded
"then we shall take Hermes" a girl with black hair and grey eyes spoke looking toward s boy with ash blond hair and black eyes the boy also nodded towards her
"then we will take Demeter"
"Apollo"
"Hephaestus"
"Aphrodite"
With that done the teams huddled in together to discuss strategies
[Eds pov]
"I have a plan" I spoke up the other two were about to say something but the Ares councillor who I learned name was lauxus shushed
"I have a skill called shadow travelling which allows me to go into any shadows and come back so it will be a quick victory" I say as all their jaws drop
"that is so OP " the Demeter and Hephaestus councillor said whilst Lauxus just grinned
After we finished the plans, I went to the forest to scan out the area as
[Time skip Friday]
Today was the day as I got ready and walked out there was a buzz all around the camp as everyone was exited for capture the flag , the ares cabin was in the north woods whilst the athena was near Zeus's fist
as everyone go into position Chiron explained the rules as well as the boundaries
As the whistle rang I quickly ran into the shadows as I overheard a Athena child plan the location of the flag , I appeared next to the flag grabbed it and jumped back in the shadows , in a matter of five minutes as I appear on our side of the creek and placed the flag down as it changed to my fathers symbol as a whistle burst across the feald as chiron said
"Ares Cabins wins , this was the shortest capture the flag I history" he muttered the secont part as the Ares team cheered whilst the athena cabin looked in astonishment at what just happened
As I slept that night and was face to face with my father
"what happened father" I asked as he looked a bit usure of himself
"I think it is the best that I tell you now , while im telling you please don't interrupt me and remember that what I did was best for you" he takes a deep sigh then continues "your friends were never alive per say they were dead children of Apollo who I used so that they fostered a deep friendship with you so that they can die right before they reach camp I did this because I realised that before you left you had but could not properly access through training but through intense emotions so I used hem I'm sorry son for what I did but I did this for the best for you" saying this he left the dream world as I awoke
I walked outside my cabin feeling as if my heart was about to burst out of my chest and every step I took felt as if my feet was getting buried in the ground ,
I went near the center of camp wear the hearth resided and saw a girl I did not see before , I sat there then the girl spoke "what happened Edward" for some reason I trusted her and spilled everything as the girl just hugged me and talked to me for the rest of the night she told me she was Hestia and said that if I ever needed to talk I can come there . I thanked her for it and walked back to my cabin
[time skip 2 years]
It has been two years since I came to camp , in these years I became rather popular around the camp and also I was banned from capture the flag as Chiron realised whichever team I was in would win , I became good friends with lee fletcher and his younger brother will solace , I started teaching Greek mythology as well as maths as I was the best at both I liked it at camp it felt like a real home rather than whatever it was in the underworld , I also talked to Hestia every other day as she was the nicest , overall life was great
