Chapter 7: My sword is bigger!
The ocean stretched out in serene calmness, its surface gently rippling under the sun. Large fishes occasionally broke through the surface, their bodies glistening before they vanished into the depths.

A shadow flew overhead at incredible speed, leaving a trail on the water as it passed by.
Wuji glanced at the creatures below before looking ahead. He had been flying for over a day without rest, he crossed more than half the ocean.

It swiftly leaped out of the crater and charged towards the person who had sent it flying.
He was a handsome man with sharp features, black hair, and piercing black eyes, surrounded by a thin, transparent white membrane.
Who else would be but Yun Wuji would dare take our precious word count?
He watched the giant white monkey charging and swiftly slashed with his sword, sending countless beams of light cascading through the air. The swords' brilliance was so intense that they formed a sea of sharp light, cutting down trees and rocks in their path.
The white monkey roared defiantly, beating its chest. Unafraid, it charged forward to meet the attack head-on.
Upon contact, countless injuries erupted across its body, causing it to roar in agony.
The monkey suddenly lifted its head, unleashing a deafening roar that echoed across the land. The sheer power of its cry was so immense that creatures hundreds of kilometers away trembled and perished from the shockwaves reverberating through the air.
The sonic attack also affected the sword lights, scattering them in disarray. The white barrier enveloping Wuji showed signs of strain, with numerous ripples appearing across its surface, it was on the verge of breaking.
This white barrier was Wuji's first technique, designed not only to protect its user and heal injuries but also to passively absorb profound energy which in turn allows him to cultivate passively.
It was then that the monkey's eyes gleamed. With a sonic boom, it charged and almost instantly appeared in front of Wuji. Before he could defend himself, a powerful punch hit the thin membrane. The membrane resisted slightly before breaking, scattering into tiny white dots.
He was sent flying cracking into a faraway mountain rock.
"Argh, it hurts like hell!" Wuji gritted his teeth as he grabbed the rock and pulled himself up.
He stood and dusted himself off.
"Hoo hoo hah ooh ha!"
The monkey roared and banged its chest as if mocking him.
"Damn monkey!" Wuji cursed as he inspected his condition. His right arm and three ribs were broken. Fortunately, with his light profound energy, healing these injuries would be relatively easy.
A few days ago, upon arriving in the Illusory Demon Realm, he had decided to rest for a while before continuing his journey. However, when he sensed a nearby Rank 8 Overlord beast, he chose to confront it.
He had several reasons for doing so. Lately, he had been researching a new technique to boost his power, and he needed combat experience to perfect it. Additionally, he lacked experience in fighting opponents who were evenly matched or stronger than him.
For the past five years, he had spent most of his time fleeing. Whenever faced with a tough opponent, he would retreat to avoid drawing attention from enemies. Usually, when he met those who were weaker than him he would just crush them with one finger, and if he inevitably had to fight someone strong, he would scheme against them. This led to his lack of direct combat experience.
Lastly, the beast's meat and blood can be used for pills.
Wuji lifted his heavy sword into the sky and roared, unleashing sword lights that converged with the previously scattered ones, forming a colossal sword in the sky.
The sword was 100 meters tall, hovering above the monkey. With a powerful swing, Wuji brought the sword in his hand down, and the giant sword in the sky descended upon the beast.
The beast didn't try to dodge, it quickly raised its massive hands above its head to defend itself, bracing for the impact of the descending colossal sword.
Boom!
The colossal sword crashed down, sending shockwaves through the air and shaking the ground beneath. Dust and debris exploded outward from the point of impact, filling the air.
"Roaar!"
The beast roared defiantly, its defenses strained against the impact. Its massive hands trembled under the weight of the descending sword, and its feet sank into the earth
bang!
Finally, it couldn't hold on and fell to its knees, still struggling against the overwhelming force.
Wuji of course didn't miss this opportunity, rushed towards the monkey and slashed with his heavy sword.
The monkey exerted all its effort to stop the gigantic sword it didn't have the strength to stop Wuji.
Swosh!
The heavy sword struck its back, nearly breaking its spine.
""Roar!"
The monkey bellowed in pain, losing its strength to block the gigantic sword.
Boom!
Finally, the sword descended with a deafening crash, slaying the beast.
Blood and flesh splattered all around.
After this fight, Yun Wuni understood some of his weaknesses.
"Gross, I'll need a shower!" He cried out in disgust. Blood and flesh splattered on him because he had been too close. He was used to having his white shield protecting him and forgot to dodge.
He stored the monkey's body and rested for a while.

Flying over the north, Wuji passed by Shiny Lake but he didn't stop to check it.
Shiny Lake was used by Huan Caiyi to suppress the flames of the Golden Crow as the lake has threads and strands of cold energy that exist a thousand meters below the lake.
Wuji wasn't ready to meet Huan Caiyi, although he had plans to meet this most beautiful woman on the continent and cooperate with her. But now wasn't the right time. Even if he were to meet her, he didn't have a way to convince her to work with him. He might even risk being attacked by her.
A woman like her, who has lost her father and husband and is surrounded by thieves vying to seize her throne, would understandably feel suspicious if a stranger appeared offering to help her.
Giving the lake one last glance, Wuji left.
