55.55% The Greatest Shinobi [Sasuke SI] / Chapter 5: Iruka Sensei

Chapter 5: Iruka Sensei

The poll has ended and the results are out:

Top 3 are Naruko with 7 votes, Hinata with 6 votes, and Ino with 4 votes.

Unfortunately, the Harem Ending and No Harem Ending had tied with 4 votes so I'll stick with just Naruko for now and branch it out to Hinata IF you guys enjoy the character development I make for her when the story reaches Shippuden.

{2 Weeks after Rebirth}

Running around and gathering all of the Uchiha assets were a lot more troublesome than I had expected. I was almost tricked by those elders of the Village into just taking back the Clan's property and not the peoples' as well.

I had thought that my grudge against them couldn't get any deeper but it seems they're able to even surpass that. It turns out that the individual assets of my clansmen were already being collected and re-distributed while I was in my coma, meaning that I had to chase every single piece back as a literal child whose only authority is the title of Leader of a Clan with no (alive) members.

Thankfully, with the knowledge I gained from browsing through Fath- Fugaku's documents and the assistance of some Civilians who hoped to curry favour with me, I was able to issue cases with the Shinobi Council to retrieve what belonged to me.

And with that, my journal entry for today was finished, now I can just engrave this into my mind with the Sharingan before burning the scroll to leave no traces. After all, I need to make sure that I remember EVERYTHING that happens this life, to at least have some assurance in recognising if I get put into a memory or mind-controlling genjutsu like Shisui's Kotoamatsukami.

 *Sharingan!*

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

..Who could be at my door this late at night? I haven't been expecting anyone. No matter, I'll quickly deal with today's diary scroll and then meet them.

I threw the scroll into the air before preparing a fireball jutsu with the bare minimum chakra.

Alright, the first step is lining my lungs, throat, and mouth with Chakra. Then, I'll forcefully shorten the hand seals for the jutsu to weaken it even more than the bare minimum.

Uma (Horse). Tora (Tiger).

<Katon: Gōkakyū No Jutsu>

A small line of embers ran into the pages, disintegrating them before they fell to the ground.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

Quickly using the Shunshin-No-Jutsu (Body flicker), I arrived at the front door of my family home and opened it to see who was calling out for me.

It was Iruka sensei. The tan complexion, scar across his nose, and my memories of his appearance all pointed out to this.

The reason he is here for, must be to check up on me and remind me to go back to the Academy ASAP. That's good, if that is truly the case then his personality matches up with the version of him I saw in the anime. I had almost forgotten about the Academy too, with how useless it would be in terms of helping me gain strength and the troubles I've been facing since I awoke in this world.

Still, I can't do anything that can bring suspicion onto me for now. Who knows if Danzo or Itachi are keeping tabs on me, it would be strange for me to suddenly throw away the only avenue to becoming a ninja if I were truly hellbent on getting revenge unless I had other options. Avenues that I didn't want them to know about, lest they (Danzo) consider me too dangerous.

Back to reality, I put on a slight smile before welcoming Iruka into my home and making some tea for him.

The silence was agonising, all it did was make me overthink, so, as the kettle began to boil, I questioned Iruka on why he came.

"Iruka-sensei, it's good to see you... but why have you come here?"

Perhaps having already expecting me to straightforwardly interrogate him, the man smiled and replied in a gentle tone, mindful of stepping onto any landmines.

"Sasuke, I understand that you've been very troubled lately, and I just wanted to see if you were happy to come back to the Academy. I've cancelled all of the homework and kept your grade the same in your absence but I can't help you forever, not to mention that your friends are all worried about you."

Friends? All I had were admirers and those that envied me, if I had friends then where were they when I was at the Hospital? Where were they when I grieved at the graves of my Clan? I had saw them at the Funeral, yes, but only because the Hokage made everyone attend. Even then, they hadn't come to speak with me.

They are children, yes, but those girls rave on and on about how they love me, and yet refuse to comfort me at my darkest moments for what? Some kind of fear that the image of the Sasuke they knew would break?

That's right. Those 'fangirls' of mine.. I can understand now why the original Sasuke acted as he did, constantly rejecting Sakura. What was it again, that he said? Ah, right.

"Was she having fun in her little make-believe fantasy of true love? As for me, I have absolutely no reason to love her and likewise, I can see no reason why she would love me."

But, now was not the time for edgy angst against children, and with Iruka's worried expression at my silence, I can tell that I had monologued for too long.

Idly staring at the empty tea cups, I spoke.

"I will return to the Academy two days from now. If that is all, then please leave."

The man put on a bewildered expression before awkwardly scratching his head, apologising and leaving.

"Eh? Ah, oh alright. Thank you Sasuke, and I'm sorry for waking you up so late at night."

Simply nodding at him, I stared him down as he left, before letting out a sigh.

There's no doubt that the Third had already told the Elders and Iruka about my 3-Tomoe Sharingan as well as my improved strength. So there's no reason to hold back for now, the only problem is finding a reason to persuade them into letting me stay at the Academy for the full 6 years since, even if the people aren't genuine, with time and effort I should be able to create numerous connections for the future.

Also, there was Naruto, wasn't there? I'm looking forward to meeting that idiot, even if he hates me because I beat him the breaks off of him so much last year, though it is rather odd to not see him pining over Sakura like the anime. Maybe it'll happen later on.

Finishing my musing, I looked at the vast collection of scrolls I had stored and decided to get right to work. After all, what kind of transmigrator would I be if I didn't take advantage of the time and resources I had now.

"Hmph, Sleep is for the Weak."
