Chapter 15: First Obstacle
"Okay! Here's the play-by-play!" Present Mic shouted and turned his head at Aizawa. "Are you ready to do the commentary, Mummy man?"
"You're the one who forced me to come," Aizawa responded.
"Let's get started right away, Mummy Man!" Present Mic continued. "What should we pay attention to in the early stages?"
"This part right now," Aizawa said watching the screen.
The students were fighting due to the narrow space.
"Hey!"
"This is too narrow!"
One by one they voiced their complaints.
The other Class 1-A students were being crushed to death. While Kazuki stayed at a far distance not wanting to dive into the chaos.
Shoto immediately freezes the other students. A powerful ice quirk shot freezing everyone. "Sorry." Shoto immediately rushed and took the head start.
Bakugo used his quirk to propel himself to the sky.
Aoyama used his naval laser to shoot into the sky.
Momo used her quirk to create a long steel rod propelling herself.
Kirishima also managed to get out.
While Kazuki used his quirk to rush outside. He glanced at the other students who were iced by Shoto. "Tsk." Kazuki playfully flicked his hands. "Go back inside." With a smile, he moved his fingers.
Whoosh!
A strong powerful wind pressure pushed the others back inside the tunnel, while those who were outside were pushed to the walls.
Kazuki turned his head. "Have fun." He said and used his quirk to his feet to start sprinting.
"That bastard!" One of the students shouted aloud.
After some time, everyone managed to run to the obstacle race.
Ojiro used his tail to jump high avoiding being freezed by Shoto's quirk. "You got me with that once, you won't get me again!"
Due to the slippery ground Shoto made, some were having trouble running, and some slipped and even hit one another.
"More people outside of Class A were able to dodge that than I expected." Shoto glanced at his side, and a blur appeared. "Kazuki!"
"I'll go first okay?" Kazuki smiled and pointed his fingers at Shoto. "Hold on tight." Kazuki flicked his fingers sending a powerful wind pressure against Shoto. He immediately rushed and sprinted away.
Luckily Shoto used his ice wall to protect himself from being blown away. 'My biggest competitor is Kazuki and..' Shoto glanced back at the angry Bakugo.
Kazuki stopped facing the first obstacle.
Shoto stopped in his tracks as well.
"Obstacles have shown up suddenly! Starting with the first barrier! Robo Inferno!" Present Mic Shouted.
Many of the students were faced to face with multiple Robo Inferno.
"Hey, aren't those the zero-points faux villains?" Uraraka said.
One of the Robo Inferno stretched its hands aiming at Kazuki who stood there nonchalantly. Kazuki stretched his hands and jumped, his fist formed.
Bang!
The loud force echoed inside and a gust of wind formed on Kazuki's hand. Slowly Kazuki retracted his hand from the Robo Inferno.
Creak. Crack.
Bang!
The Robo Inferno exploded into bits. Kazuki smiled and continued to run using his quirk.
"Kazuki Uchiku Class 1-A!" Present mic shouted. "With just one attack he destroyed the villain into bits! Talk about destructive!"
Present mic stood up. "Amazing! He's the first one through!"
"Go Kazuki!" Furui kept on shouting holding the pamphlet.
"Dad...." Hinata hid her face in embarrassment.
'How did he do that?' Akane was conflicted. 'No, when did he learn to do that?' She glanced at her husband and narrowed her eyes. 'Does he know about this?'
Meanwhile, Shoto raised his hand, and ice slowly formed. "If they went through all this trouble, I wish they would've prepared something better." He put his hand on the ground, and ice slowly materialized. "Since my stupid old man is watching." He raised his hand, waves of ice formed and froze the Robo Inferno.
Shoto put down his hand and ran again. 'I can't let Kazuki win.'
Slowly the Robo Inferno started to crumble.
"Shoto Todoroki Class 1-A." Present mic continued. "He attacked and Defended in one hit! How elegant! Shoto Todoroki is speeding up trying to catch up to Kazuki Uchiku!"
"Kazuki's actions are just plain destructive, while Shoto's actions are logical and strategic," Aizawa commented.
"As expected of the top rookie! Kazuki!" Present Mic shouted.
While the rest of the students fought with the rest of the faux villains.
"Hey, someone is trapped underneath!" One of the students shouted aloud. "Wouldn't that kill them?"
"Will people die at this sports festival?!" One of the students trembling in fear said.
Bang. Bang
The others glanced at the top of one of the defeated Robo Inferno.
Kirishima jumped out of the Robo Inferno with a loud shout. "Like I'd die!"
"Kirishima from Class 1-A was underneath! That's crazy!" Present Mic shouted.
"That bastard Todoroki," Kirishima said. "If it hadn't been me, someone would have died!"
Bang. Bang.
"That Class A!" Another one comes out of the Robo Inferno. "Is filled with bastards!" Tetsutesu shouted aloud.
"Woah! Tetsutesu from Class B was also underneath! That's crazy!" Present Mic Shouted.
"If it hadn't been me, someone would have died!" Tesutetsu shouted.
Kirishima began running tears falling from his eyes. "Our quirks are pretty much the same?! I have enough hard time standing out as it is!"
Tetsutesu also ran following Kirishima. "Wait you little!"
Bang!
Everyone looked back, Bakugo was using his explosions to propel himself to the sky. "Like I'd let you get ahead of me!"
"Class 1-A Bakugo! Since the bottoms are locked, he goes overhead! Cleeeevveer!" Present Mic shouted.
Sero and Tokoyami also used their quirks following Bakugo.
"Woahhhhh!" The crowd erupted in cheer.
"Hey, hey! Is the first barrier a piece of cake? Then what about the second? If you fall you out!" Present Mic shouted.
Kazuki stopped running, tapped on his feet, and jumped high up. He turned his body around and flicked his fingers.
Whoosh!
The wind pressure is used as a pushing force.
Thud.
Kazuki landed on one of the circles. He looked back and the others had already arrived. "Tch." A smile rose on his face.
"It's the fall!" Present Mic shouted aloud.
Tsuyu jumped and held on to the ropes, she started crawling.
"Here it is! Here's my chance to show off!" Mei Hatsume. "Hehehehe! It's time for my support items to be in the limelight!"
