I grabbed the ledger and had the driver drop me off at the base of Cheng Yu's company building. As soon as I entered the lobby, something felt off—the receptionist looked at me as if she had something to say but hesitated.

I sensed something was up. I was about to ask when the receptionist spoke first, "Miss Zhao has arrived, claiming to come for a collaboration with President Cheng. She stormed in with a group of people, and we just couldn't stop her."

Zhao Mengxi showing up was unexpected. I nodded to acknowledge the information and took the elevator upstairs.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, I heard Zhao Mengxi's shrill voice, "Where's Cheng Yu? I've been waiting here for twenty minutes. If he doesn't show his face soon, I'll flip this goddamn office upside down."
