As I walked back to my chambers, the tension from the confrontation still lingered in the air. The weight of responsibility pressed heavily on my shoulders. My stomach grumbled, reminding me that I hadn't eaten properly all day. Deciding to cook for myself, I headed to the kitchen.

The castle's kitchen was grand, with polished granite countertops, copper pots and pans hanging from hooks, and a large, stone fireplace where meats and vegetables roasted on a spit.

The aroma of herbs and spices filled the air, mingling with the earthy scent of freshly baked bread. I took a moment to savor the ambiance before rolling up my sleeves and getting to work.
