Chapter 16: Price for Everything(II)
From the shore, a small boat could be seen sailing against the currents, and a woman could be seen peddling the boat toward a certain direction. She turned to look towards the man that was seated in a meditative pose before asking, "Master! You said this Divine healer you are meeting has the ability to heal anyone as long as they are not dead?"
Looking at her, his expression had half a smile, something that rarely happens. "QinZhi! Oh QinZhi! You insisted on following me because you are bored, turns out you have some thoughts about the Medical Saint! Well it doesn't matter! At least I got something out of this deal, and you were willing to peddle the boat for me." He didn't continue to tease QinZhi, he just found her amusing.
She actually dared to pretend before him she was interested in the Medical Saint's abilities. He scoffed at it without even giving her a chance to decieve herself in the slightest. The last time they met the Medical Saint/ Divine Healer, she was almost drolling over him. How could he not see through her little pretenses, but he just couldn't help but find funny.
Indeed the Divine Healer was excessively handsome. The term excessive clearly meant the man was handsome to a fault. Comparing him to Li Xin clearly made him appear like nothing special. But Li Xin was used to it, he wasn't the most handsome person, but he never thought of competing in this aspect.
When Li Xin and QinZhi arrived at the Mystic Pavilion branch in his carriage, he had already sensed some presences secretly observing them.
He was used to this, and could guess that they came from the Factions all over the world that seemed concerned about his leaving the headquarters of the Mystic Pavillion.
Each of them had their concern about his actions. Clearly his every move made some people uneasy. It was also why the journey to the sea had been arranged in secret and they ventured out sneakily in the darkness.
His friend, didn't like too much drama around him. It was only natural for Li Xin to go alone, but since QinZhi insisted on coming along he could only agree.
Sitting on the boat, he let QinZhi tell him more about the information she had gathered on what was happening around the world. He liked to be informed, and QinZhi was very good at this job. The more information he had, the easier it would be to judge a lor of issues. He could already hear something from the information QinZhi passed him.
This move was smart, and compared to anything else, information was important.
The two of them had just arrived in the sea region and he wanted to also know more about this place, as he would need to stay for a while in this place.
He was very satisfied with the way QinZhi handled affairs as anything that concerned the sea was collected and sorted out before she informed him.
The business in the sea region had been suffering from some pirate attacks from time to time. After he heard of this, he clearly didn't plan on leaving this unsolved. He was interested in these abnormalities in the areas of the sea.
He was also secretly eyeing the collections of the pirates, after all they rob people on the sea all year round, they ought to have a lot of good things. He was not in a rush though, as he had QinZhi make secretly and gather more information about this secretly.
When he had nothing to do in the future, or his practice reached a deadlock, perhaps he would visit them.
He was also going to try and see if the sea region could allow his practice of the saber technique to make some improvements. After all his technique was called the Sea Calming Saber Manual. He didn't know if he could gain something in the sea, but it was worth a try during his stay.
For him to reach his current stage, he had fused more martial arts techniques into his saber and cultivation of martial arts. He preferred this, because he would then only have two things to practice and it saved a lot of time and effort.
The means of attack was a saber technique and in the past he infused insights from other martial arts. In the beginning after all he did not practice a saber art, this came up only after he had laid his foundation and the techniques he used for this where mainly boxing skills.
But in the end of the day, he seemed to realize that once he used insights of other martial arts, he could increase the power of others. In the end, the Sea Calming Saber art seemed to be formulated by adding numerous insights from other techniques into the saber arts he practiced.
It is also in the same way difficult for others to be able to find the source of the martial arts he practiced. The incomplete saber art he obtained in the past had been improved by him to the point that he reached perfection. All the other martial arts he could gain access to had no use to his existing two techniques.
He was sure that it had to be a skill of a certain level for him to be able to gain any benefits by practicing it. The most important thing was that even at the moment, he had to practice a technique that was only slightly inferior to the two he had to perfection to be able to gain any comprehension points.
In the end, he was sure that the situation did not benefit him in any way, as such he was going to focus on trying to practice the Sea Calming saber art to the next stage, by leveraging the sea to gain insights into the aspect of Sea Calming.
In the period he spends training on this skill, he already is able to tell that there is a possibility to go further.
While rowing the boat, QinZhi's voice kept recounting some information, and he just sat there and listened.
"In the Sea City there seems to be a lot of rumors about a treasure! But that is not important as it has been spreading a long time now. The most important piece of information is that the Black Lotus Sect demoness had appeared in this region. It is just that her presence has yet to be revealed." When she said this, she secretly looked at Li Xin.
Seeing that he didn't react and ramained calm, she couldn't help but ask, "Master! Are you and that demoness dating? When are you going to get married? You are not young anymore!"
When Li Xin heard this, he almost fell off the boat. Tuning his head he glared at her fiercely.
"What do you mean by I'm not young anymore? I've barely reached 30! You already are planning my marriage? QinZhi now that I look at you I realize you are becoming more and more bold. Even your master age you dare speculate."
"What are you acting all flustered about? You are getting old! That can't be changed! But seeing how you didn't try to say anything about the Demoness, I guess you have nothing to do with her. Well! It's understandable. She is out of your league after all." She didn't stop and decided to crush him when he was down.
Li Xin may have taught her to be a good manager, but he failed to teach her any good manners. She didn't forget to organise information and deliver it in an orderly manner, but she was the only person that didn't gover him any face.
But he didn't care much about this, he could only sigh helplessly.
