Chapter 5: Arrogant

After the evening self-study session, Alex first took Kate home before driving back to his own house, arriving past ten o'clock. As soon as he entered the villa, a bodyguard approached respectfully and said, "Young master, the master is waiting for you in the underground training ground."

"I'll head there right away," Alex replied, exiting the villa and heading towards the underground training ground in the estate. This training ground, situated beneath the large gym, spans over five thousand square meters and serves as the bodyguards' regular training area. Upon entering, Alex saw more than twenty imposing bodyguards standing in formation before David. As Alex approached, they greeted him in unison, "Good evening, young master," their voices crisp and unified. Alex found the aura emanating from these bodyguards very familiar.

Approaching David, Alex asked curiously, "Dad, what's the matter?"

"Alex, what do you think of these bodyguards' capabilities?" David inquired.

"They're formidable. Their aura is not typical of ordinary bodyguards."

"You're right. They are not ordinary bodyguards; they are members of the Golden Eagle Special Forces. However, starting tomorrow, they will leave the military completely and become your private force, obeying only your commands."

"No wonder their aura seemed so familiar. They must have been sent by Grandpa and Grandfather," Alex mused.

"Indeed, these twenty-five men were sent by your grandfather and your godfather. They will be your most loyal guards. Your future success will greatly depend on them," David said earnestly.

Alex nodded, "I understand, Dad."

"Good, as long as you understand. It's late; I'll leave them to you and head to bed." David patted Alex on the shoulder and began to walk away. After a few steps, he turned back and said, "Your mother and I have seen Kate's photo. She's a good girl; cherish her." With a smile, he left.

Alex felt embarrassed, thinking, "Nothing escapes my parents."

Alex's gaze swept over the twenty-five men, noting their stern expressions, upright postures, and the distinctive air of soldiers. A sharp-looking young man, about twenty-four or twenty-five, stepped forward and said, "Young master, my name is Mark, and I am their leader. Please give me your instructions directly."

"Starting tomorrow, follow me discreetly. It's late; you should all rest early," Alex instructed.

"Yes, young master," their voices echoed through the underground training ground.

In the classroom, the teacher lectured passionately while the students listened attentively. Only Alex, head down, fiddled with his Pocket PC, causing the teachers to shake their heads in exasperation. No one dared reprimand him because Principal John had warned them that this student was untouchable.

Just as the teacher, the attentive students, and Alex, absorbed in his novel, reached a state of deep concentration, the classroom door was forcefully pushed open. Four uniformed police officers entered. The sight of the stunned teacher and students seemed to inflate the officers' egos. The leading officer cleared his throat and announced loudly, "We are from the Criminal Police Brigade of the Public Security Bureau. We are here to investigate a case. Who is Alex?"

Alex set down his Pocket PC and responded coolly, "I am. What do you need?"

"Come with us to the police station. We suspect you are involved in an assault case from two days ago," the lead officer said sternly.

Across two rows of desks, Sam smirked, thinking, "Alex, let's see you beat up the police too. Crossing me will only lead to your downfall."

"Why should I go with you?" Alex asked nonchalantly.

"Because we are the police," the lead officer retorted sharply.

"I think you're unfit to be police officers, let alone wear those uniforms," Alex replied with a smile.

"What do you think we're fit to be?" the lead officer asked, puzzled.

"You'd make good dogs. Dogs aren't suited to wear human clothes," Alex replied coldly.

"You dare insult law enforcement? Handcuff him!" the lead officer ordered angrily. Two officers moved to handcuff Alex.

"Wait, let me make a call first," Alex said casually, taking out his phone and dialing. "Mark, some people have barged into my classroom and disrupted my mood. Throw them out for me."

The officers stared at Alex as if he were from another planet, thinking, "We've seen arrogance before, but never to this extent." The lead officer's expression kept changing, his eyes darting to Sam. Sam pretended not to see anything, his head lowered. The entire classroom fell silent.

Rhythmic footsteps echoed in the corridor outside the classroom. Soon, more than a dozen men in black suits and sunglasses walked in, making the already cramped classroom even more crowded. Mark approached Alex and respectfully said, "Young master, who should we throw out?"

"Those four," Alex pointed to the four stunned policemen.

"Yes, young master." Mark turned, his sharp gaze sweeping over the men, and with a gesture, the bodyguards grabbed the four policemen like chickens and dragged them outside. By the time the policemen realized what was happening, they were already outside the classroom.

Alex glanced disdainfully at the four policemen being dragged away and said to Mark, "Take them back to the police station and tell their superior to discipline his subordinates properly. If they anger me again, the consequences will be severe."

"Yes, young master." Mark nodded and left the classroom.

With the situation resolved, the teacher knocked on the blackboard and continued the lesson.

Alex turned to the visibly tense Kate and whispered, "Kate, are you worried about your husband again?"

Kate responded softly, her eyes filled with tender affection. Alex felt a wave of warmth and reached under the table to hold her delicate hand. It was the first time Kate had been held by Alex during class, and she felt her face heat up, her heart racing, and her body stiffening slightly. The excitement and sweetness left her powerless to pull her hand away, allowing Alex to hold it.

Sam's face alternated between red and white as he clenched his fists tightly, muttering, "Alex, this isn't over between us."

"Sam, do you have a question?" the teacher asked, noticing Sam's strange expression and muttering.

"No, nothing. I was just reflecting on your lecture," Sam stammered.

Alex cast a cold glance at Sam, thinking, "If you stop now, I'll let it go. Otherwise, don't blame me for being ruthless."

At the police station in City H, Chief Troy paced back and forth in his office, his face dark. Four dejected policemen stood at the doorway.

Troy stopped and pointed at one of the policemen, yelling, "Who told you to arrest people indiscriminately? What evidence did you have? Do you know who Alex is? You've disgraced the police. It's a good thing you were brought back here. If you had been taken to the provincial office, I would have been in big trouble. Each of you write a report and submit it tomorrow."

"Chief He, it's not that serious, is it?" one policeman tentatively asked.

"Use your brains! Would anyone dare to bring you back if he didn't have strong backing?" Troy shouted.

"We understand, Chief. There won't be a next time," the four muttered.

Troy took a cigarette from his desk, lit it, and took a couple of puffs, calming down. He said to the four men, "This matter ends here. I don't want to know who ordered you to go. If you want to keep wearing that uniform, don't cause any more trouble. Now get out."

The four left the office with their heads hanging. Troy sat in his swivel chair, smoking, and cursed inwardly, "Sam, your family is really unfortunate to have such a reckless kid. Commanding my men to arrest people nearly cost me my job. It looks like Sam's family is truly doomed."

Meanwhile, in class, Sam sneezed loudly several times, startling the nearby students. Sam wiped his tears and nose with a tissue, thinking, "Damn it, who the hell is cursing me?"

Alex, head down, scribbled on a note and handed it to Kate. Kate picked it up and read: "Honey, I'd like to take you shopping this Saturday and buy some gifts for your parents. Please approve. Love, Alex." Kate couldn't help but smile and wrote back: "Approved, Kate."
