‘‘Cheol…it would be best if you attend the meeting. The members of the board are currently gathered in the conference room, awaiting your arrival. Henry is also there to take my place for a while because he has a proposition to discuss...’’ Mom ordered Cheol.

After giving me a peck on the top of my head and giving mom a nod, Cheol exited his office, leaving me staring at the closed door and mom watching me.

The ache that I was experiencing in my chest was intolerable. I can't imagine living without Cheol in my life now.

‘‘Princess…’’ My mother drew her chair closer to mine and reached for my hand as she did so.

‘‘Mom...’’ I managed to choke back the sobs, but the tears were already running down my face. ‘‘I am looking forward to the wedding... I didn't… I thought…’’ I wanted to say more, but I couldn't get the words out. ‘‘I-I thought Cheol is willing to marry me…’’ I gasped out.
