Chapter 6: 6 Threats
"The feast was amazing Chief Leo, I dare to say even our royal chefs can't compare to yours. I am afraid I will visit here more often just to taste food." The Miner King said to Leo slapping his back causing Leo to wince as he wasn't prepared for it.
But he didn't show it and replied to his praise with a humble response "You flatter me, King George it was the least I could do for your hard work. And I would always welcome esteemed guests like you, though I don't think we are good enough to compare to your royal chefs."
"Don't be humble, you should be proud of everything or anything you have and call me George from now on, formalities aren't for us, Leo," George said extending his hand for friendship towards Leo who obviously wouldn't let go of this with his limited interaction with George he knew one thing George was a good man at least that was how he felt and from their status, it could be said George already considered him as an ally ulterior motives or not Leo wouldn't reject it.
"Then I look forward to our future meetings George," Leo said shaking George's hand after which George opened the portal.. cave? This time Leo saw how George used his shovel.
George's body released a brown glow and after that, he stabbed his shovel somewhere in space and a portal/cave formed in the space and the other side.
The Miner King started walking inside the portal while shouting loudly "Don't forget Leo Mining City is always open for your visit." To which Leo also exclaimed, "Certainly I also need to learn how to make a kingdom after all."
After that the miners went away Leo looked at Do-Wrong and Do-Right who were sleeping above each other over Do-Wrong's builder hut he didn't even want to know how they climbed there.
He learned from his conversation with George that to become stronger people of Clash World need to fight and do their jobs.
This information surprised him and he checked the progress of the miners who leveled up by at least 2-3 levels George also leveled up by one level, which was also the reason George was so happy while hunting monsters was also a way to level up and get stronger for every different troop it was different and for miners, it was mining in difficult situations while mining in the Fields went smoothly it didn't mean that Fields were safe, after all, any other person would turn into a gold statue or a turn into elixir if they went into these Fields.
He also learned that the kingdoms were so peaceful which he didn't expect while some kingdoms did fight it was a rare case.
The reason was a prophecy, honestly, Leo never liked something related to fate or prophecy but this time prophecy did something good.
In the prophecy, it was told that the Clash World would be invaded by other worlds or foreign continents and they would be very strong.
Obviously, most people didn't believe it but one day suddenly Goblin Lord the former Hero now Tyrant and Ruler of the Goblin Tribe declared war on the Clash World many were confused because of this as no one expected Goblin Lord to have the courage to do it.
While Goblins were not weak on the contrary they were strong but fighting was never their forte, heck he even learned that the goblins were a good part of entertainment in this world, from dancing to singing to some shows.
While they were greedy and when we say it means GREEDY, they wouldn't even leave a toy that looked like a coin.
But it didn't mean they actively stole. It happened in the past when goblins attacked any village they saw as an easy target.
But, Grand Warden (not with big G one) gave a solution and it was so easy that it made the whole Clash Universe feel like idiots.
He suggested making them Guards of the Gold Mines and Storage.
Many were skeptical Isn't it the same as handling the key to thieves, this was Goblin they were talking about whose G is for Gold.
But one king experimented with it and the results stunned everyone.
The Goblins protected the vault like a mother hen, which made people think that Goblins like to horde gold and will protect it from being taken away no matter whose gold it is, though it created another problem they wouldn't even let the original owner of gold to take it, though with times it improved and Goblins also reduced stealing.
Previously they would steal all now they only steal a little which is their salary actually for guarding the vaults but people felt to keep it that way after all they were making goblins work for free.
So, why would the Goblin Lord declare war when his people are living good, well after some time they learned from refugee goblins that the Goblin Lord was contacted by someone who called himself a Demon Lord and gave something to the Goblin Lord which made him powerful and power to corrupt many goblins.
After searching for this Demon Lord they learned he was from another world that was close to their world, which reminded them of the prophecy but still many didn't believe that foreigners would be powerful.
After all, why would he go to the Goblin Lord who is one of the weakest Heroes whose only dangerous point is his speed and his abilities which were related to the sin of greed but weren't particularly powerful?
But when the Goblin Lord challenged the Barbarian King this matter finally got the attention it deserved.
After all Barbarian King is one of the strongest Heroes so powerful that George told Leo that he wouldn't last more than ten seconds if he confronted him head-on and that too when Barbarian King would only use brute force.
And that made Leo think about the Hero from the game who was neglected for the sake of Archer Queen obviously he also upgraded his King along with Queen but this was real life.
In the dual Barbarian King bitchslapped the Goblin Lord though it still didn't bring much joy, while everyone expected the outcome they didn't expect that Barbarian King to use his ability to attack Goblin Lord and still suffer loss.
The reason was the Goblin Lord's speed which according to Miner King's description was at least Super Sonic not many people were able to see him but still for stronger heroes it wasn't much problem however the abilities shown by the Goblin Lord did raise concerns.
The Goblin Lord was able to steal the Barbarian King's strength which was a shocking thing after all previously Goblin Lord was only able to steal some treasures but something like strength raised concerns and the strength of the Barbarian King even more so as from the feats of Barbarian King, Leo concluded the Barbarian King whose real name is Thor Lestir had the strength of Incalculable class that too in his unawakened state, this fact also made Leo think about the potential connection between Norse mythology and Barbarians after all there were many similarities between them.
