Chapter 125: Ice Battle pt 2.

As the battle between Lyra and Aurora intensified, the Frozen Mist that filled the room became increasingly crucial to the outcome. Aurora's mastery over the mist allowed her to craft ice essence techniques with terrifying ease, putting Lyra at a severe disadvantage.

Amidst the swirling cold, Aurora's words cut through the air like shards of ice. "You think you're special to Dante?" she scoffed, her voice dripping with disdain. "You're nothing more than his latest plaything, a temporary distraction. Once he gets what he wants from you, he'll cast you aside like all the others."

Lyra's heart raced, a mix of anger and doubt flooding through her. She shouted back, her voice trembling with emotion, "That's not true! Dante believes in me, in our work together. We're going to change Nocturnia for the better!"

But even as the words left her lips, Lyra couldn't shake the nagging fear that Aurora might be right. How could she be sure of Dante's true intentions? The thought made her falter, her movements becoming less precise as she tried to dodge Aurora's relentless attacks.

Using her Omnipath essence technique, Lyra focused on the Frozen Mist, trying to understand its properties and how it enhanced Aurora's abilities. She realized that the mist was essentially a gas, a medium that allowed Aurora to manipulate the moisture in the air and create her deadly ice constructs.

An ice spear whizzed past Lyra's head, grazing her cheek and leaving a thin trail of blood in its wake. She knew she was running out of options. She had to get to the lab, to the resources that might help her turn the tide of the battle.

As Aurora closed in, Lyra's mind raced. She reached into her pocket, grabbing the last of her vials. With shaking hands, she mixed the contents together, creating a hastily improvised battle potion. It was a gamble, but it was her only chance.

Lyra dodged another ice spear, the frozen projectile shattering against the wall behind her. She counted down in her head, waiting for the perfect moment. Then, with a desperate cry, she hurled the battle potion directly at Aurora.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Aurora's eyes widened in surprise, and with a flick of her wrist, she froze the potion in midair, just inches from her face. A cruel smile spread across her lips. "Nice try," she purred, as icy constraints once again snaked around Lyra's body, immobilizing her completely.

Aurora raised her hand, a final ice spear forming in her grasp. Lyra closed her eyes, bracing herself for the inevitable.

But the blow never came.

"Enough!" The voice cut through the frozen air like a thunderclap, filled with a power and authority that made even Aurora falter.

It was Dante, appearing from the shadows, his essence technique already unleashed. A pulsing orb of darkness hovered above his open palm, absorbing the Frozen Mist and nullifying Aurora's control over the environment.

Aurora's face paled, her confidence evaporating in the face of Dante's wrath. "Master Dante, I..."

"We will discuss this later, Aurora." Dante's voice was cold, his eyes narrowed in anger. "Leave us."

As Aurora retreated, Dante rushed to Lyra's side, his touch gentle as he helped her to her feet. "Lyra, are you alright?" he asked, his brow furrowed with concern.

Lyra nodded, leaning into Dante's warmth as the chill of the battle slowly faded. "I'm okay," she whispered, her voice hoarse with exhaustion. "Thank you, Dante."

In a swirl of shadows, Dante teleported them back to Lyra's room, carefully laying her on the bed. As he examined the ice burns on her skin, his expression darkened. "I will make her pay for this," he growled, his fists clenched at his sides.
