Chapter 89: End of Semester
With the battle finally over, Lyra, Clara, and Lilith carried the unconscious ghouls out of the underground chambers and into the light of day. They made their way to the academy's medical ward, where they reported the incident and ensured that the ghouls received proper care and attention.
The following day, the three heroines found themselves in the principal's office, their hearts filled with a mix of exhaustion and pride. The principal thanked them profusely for their bravery and quick thinking, acknowledging the incredible sacrifice they had made to protect the school and its students.
Later, as they made their way back to their dorms, they were greeted by Elias and the other members of the resistance club. The group surrounded them, their faces beaming with gratitude and admiration.
"We can't thank you enough for what you did," Elias said, his voice filled with emotion. "You saved not just the school, but the entire town. And Lilith," he added, turning to the Sanguine girl with a warm smile, "we want you to know that you're always welcome here, no matter what. You're one of us now."
Lilith's eyes widened in surprise, a flush of pride and belonging spreading across her cheeks. She had never imagined that she would find acceptance among the resistance club, but now, looking at the faces of those around her, she knew that she had found a true home.
As the group celebrated their victory and the bonds of friendship that had been forged in the heat of battle, Lyra found herself locking eyes with Elias. There was something in his gaze, a warmth and tenderness that made her heart flutter in her chest.
But before she could dwell on those feelings, the conversation turned to the upcoming lunar break. With the end of the school year fast approaching, the students of Ashborne Academy were eagerly making plans for their time off.
