Ithil sat silently in the carriage he hired as he looked out the window towards the forest, growing closer with every passing second.
He hadn't seen his parents for the last two visits because they were away for important business.
It hurt a little, yes, but he understood. They are the leaders of the moon elf tribe in Wogas kingdom and often had to go for meetings with the leaders of other tribes.
Thankfully, the veilstones had always welcomed him into their home, so he hadn't been alone during those breaks.
They reached the forest's edge, and the carriage stopped, "Sorry, kid. I'm not going any further than this." The driver, who looked in his 50s, said in a rough voice as he eyed the forest wearily.
Ithil climbed out of the carriage and passed the gold to the man, "This is fine. Thank you, sir." He gave a slight bow.
The man gave a small smile, "Good luck, kid." He then turned the carriage around and returned from the direction they came.
