Chapter 37: Psionic Knowledge

"Always stay humble and don't let power and knowledge go to your head."

When Qin Mo turned around and concentrated on his research, Vanessa suddenly said this.

Qin Mo's back trembled, and then he slowly turned his head and stared into Vanessa's eyes: "What did you say?"

"Always stay humble and don't let power and knowledge go to your head." Vanessa calmly repeated her previous words.

If it were someone else, Qin Mo would be able to completely accept such educational words even if Gray said them, after all, this sentence itself makes sense.

But when it came from the mouth of a psyker, Qin Mo found it very hard to accept.

"Do you think I'm in a good mood now?" Qin Mo pointed at his brain, "I'm filled with disgust and hatred. I can't get along with a psyker."

Qin Mo knew clearly that this hatred and disgust towards psyker energy was a side effect of the star god power in his body.

Although not all Star Gods hate the Warp to the point where they can no longer control themselves, the difference between Star Gods is greater than the difference between gods and humans. It is not surprising that there are Star Gods who hate the Warp extremely.

"You hate the Warp and psykers? Then shouldn't you do some research on psykers and develop weapons to control them?" Vanessa said as she walked in front of each instrument. "These auxiliary tools are amazing creations. The physical science of the material universe is like a toy in your hands, but you don't have any talent for psykers. You can't even feel the existence of the Warp. I'm different."

Hearing this, Qin Mo thought about it seriously, and finally chose to suppress his hatred and disgust: "Tell me what you know."

Vanessa nodded immediately, and then began to explain to Qin Mo everything she knew.

Starting from what the Warp is, to how psykers use psykers to affect reality, and how to transform psykers into means of attack or reconnaissance.

Vanessa was imparting the knowledge she knew, treating Qin Mo as someone who knew nothing about psyker power. She even explained some very taboo knowledge to Qin Mo.

For example, the Chaos Gods in the Warp and their powers.

Qin Mo did not interrupt Vanessa's story. He listened quietly, filtering out what he knew in his brain and focusing on remembering what he didn't know.

This storytelling lasted for an entire Terra Day.

Fortunately, Qin Mo is smart, otherwise Vanessa would have to break down all the knowledge and explain it to him, which would take an unknown amount of time.

"The power of a psyker does not come from within itself, but from the Warp, so if there is a word to describe the process of using psyker power, it is extraction."

"Do you have any inspiration?"

After finishing her story, Vanessa looked at Qin Mo quietly, waiting for him to ask questions or bring up something he had thought of.

"Psykers themselves exist in the material universe. I can find a way to block their connection with the subspace before they extract psyker energy." Qin Mo closed his eyes and thought and spoke, inspiration was emerging.

Qin Mo stopped listening to the lecture and immediately turned around to write down his inspiration on paper.

Vanessa nodded approvingly, and then talked about something else: "By the way, does a person like you have to stay in the Talon system for the rest of your life? The Empire's warships all use subspace engines, and they are designed to enter the subspace. Wouldn't you go crazy if you entered the subspace?"

"Why do I have to use the subspace engine?" Qin Mo looked up at Vanessa.

"Then what do you want to use? The webway? What a joke. The inertia-free engine? You can build it, but have you used it? You're not made entirely of metal." Vanessa said.

"I have a better idea, but I need time to study and learn. In my vision, I will use a faster and more direct way to travel across the galaxy."

"Oh..." Vanessa nodded thoughtfully, and couldn't help asking, "Can you reveal a little bit...for the sake of me teaching you psyker knowledge?"

"cannot."

"I see you haven't figured it out at all? You're just being stubborn. In fact, you still have to use the subspace drive in the future."

"Yes, you are right."

"..."

Vanessa was very helpless and decided not to continue asking questions. Instead, she gave Qin Mo a warning: "You are lucky. The rebels used a battle to help you select suitable confidants. Almost all of your guards are qualified, except Grote."

Hearing this, Qin Mo stopped writing on the paper and turned to look at Vanessa.

"He enjoys fighting too much," Vanessa said. "You can take this as a provocation, but I'm telling the truth."

Qin Mo was silent for a moment, then nodded in approval: "You are right."

When Vanessa wanted to further remind people of the dangers of enjoying fighting too much, Qin Mo pointed to the door and said, "Go back to your cell."

"Okay." Vanessa nodded, turned and walked out of the underground cave.

The guards outside immediately put a large number of psyker suppression devices on Vanessa, until these devices were stacked on her body like armor, and then escorted her back to the cell.

...

After the person who disgusted him left, Qin Mo began to devote himself to research.

He was multitasking, researching psyker interference technology while thinking about Groot.

Of course, we cannot rule out the possibility that Vanessa was trying to sow discord, but she is certainly right.

Groot enjoyed fighting too much.

Compared to the destructive shoulder cannon and the shotgun laser that can kill a large number of enemies in an instant, Groot prefers the gravity hammer.

The gravity hammer is just a backup self-defense weapon, just like a dagger, it is not very useful but it is indispensable.

But it was this kind of weapon that Groot particularly liked to use. What he liked was not to create a huge pit on the rebel position with one shot, but to use the gravity hammer to smash the enemy into meat paste.

If it is allowed to continue, a terrible result may occur, that is, Groot will be targeted by Khorne, one of the four gods.

"Guards, call Grote back." Qin Mo called out to the door, but no one came in after waiting for a long time.

Qin Mo suddenly felt something was wrong and walked out of the room to check the situation. Then he saw guards lying all over the corridor, snoring loudly.

Qin Mo hurried to the cell where Vanessa was imprisoned.

There was another person imprisoned in the cell, but it was not Vanessa, but the rebel bishop who had escaped from the battlefield before.

The bishop's body was swollen at this time, but her vital signs were still maintained strangely. She was still completely alive, and her eyeballs even moved to look at Qin Mo.

Qin Mo could read the doubt in her eyes. The bishop didn't know why he was here.

It must be Vanessa who brought the bishop here, Qin Mo thought.

This guy managed to escape and send the bishop to the cell in less than half an hour after leaving the underground cave. It was obvious that her psyker power was very strong.

But fortunately, no matter how strong Vanessa's psyker power is, she is not an enemy, at least not yet.
