How had my life become such a tangled web of danger and betrayal? Just weeks ago, my biggest concerns were modeling assignments and figuring out my relationship with Carmen. Now, I found myself standing in a dimly lit parking lot, surrounded by men with knives, my ex-fiancé smirking maliciously at me. I couldn't help but wonder how everything had spiraled so far out of control. 

Daniel's voice cut through my thoughts, dripping with malice. "You thought you could just leave, didn't you? That you could walk away and live happily ever after?"

Zaya's grip on my hand tightened, her protective stance a shield against the growing threat. She took a step forward, her voice unwavering. "Back off, Daniel. This is between you and me now."

Daniel's smirk widened. "You've always been a fool, Zaya. This isn't going to end well for you."
