Chapter 123: I'm breaking up with you

As I stood there in shock, my heart shattering with each passing second, I saw Carmen turn and spot me. Her eyes widened in horror, and she immediately broke away from Sydney, running towards me.

"Elena, wait!" Carmen called out, her voice desperate.

I didn't stop. I couldn't. My heart was pounding, and tears streamed down my face as I fled through the villa, my mind a whirlwind of pain and confusion. But Carmen was faster. She caught up to me just as I reached the front door, grabbing my arm to stop me.

"Elena, please, let me explain," she begged, her grip firm but gentle.

I yanked my arm free, turning to face her with a mixture of anger and heartbreak. "Explain what, Carmen? That you were kissing your ex? That you've been lying to me this whole time?"

Carmen looked pained, her eyes full of regret. "It's not what it looks like. I swear, Elena, it's complicated."
