Chapter 64: Preparing for the gala

I woke up to the soft glow of morning light filtering through the curtains. Stretching, I realized I was alone in bed. Carmen must have already left for work. I sighed, feeling a mix of relief and disappointment.

The past few days had been a whirlwind of emotions, and I wasn't sure how to process everything. As I got out of bed, my phone buzzed with a message from Isabel.

Isabel: Good morning, Elena! Don't forget, today is the big day. I'll be at the house by noon to help you get ready for the gala.

I typed a quick response and headed to the bathroom for a long, hot shower. The water soothed my muscles, washing away the remnants of sleep and stress. I took my time, allowing myself to relax and prepare mentally for the day ahead.

When I stepped out, the bathroom was filled with steam, and I felt rejuvenated. Wrapping myself in a plush towel, I walked back to the bedroom, where Isabel was already waiting, looking energetic and organized as always.
