Chapter 45: Chapter Forty Four: The Cheating Game

Ciara's POV

Even while in the shower, I could still hear his laughter subside and increase, causing me to shake my head in annoyance.

I ended up taking a longer shower than necessary, consumed in thoughts about the events that had unfolded.

Bracing myself for the reaction I would face upon leaving the bathroom, and hoping he had stopped laughing, I finally emerged. I found him seated, engrossed in a set of files, and the moment his eyes landed on me, I asked, "What?"

However, he once again burst into the annoying laughter, his shoulders shaking with the effect.

I snapped my teeth, eyeing his silly behavior.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's not about you," he said, trying to convince me. But the annoyance that had built up inside of me was taking over. I rolled into the sheets, about to fling them over my body.

"No, no. Somebody has to wash that, it's dirty," he stated.
