Ciara's POV
"Is it a match?" I joined Ariana to ask, but silently and inside my mind.
Vulcan's expression was blank, making it hard to read, his brows furrowed as he scrutinized every corner of the result.
He looked away from it and towards us. Before turning to Frederick, he hugged Ariana, who was at the opposite side of him.
That was the only confirmation needed - Frederick was his son. It was a match.
He spoke into Ariana's skin, his voice muffled. "Next time, don't keep something so important like this away from me, promise." His eyes were flashing with emotion, and my knees felt weak.
Ariana replied, "Promise." He kissed her forehead and pulled away.
I forced a smile along with them. I was in no way against Frederick - he was innocent. But I was worried about my own standing in this family.
Vulcan cupped Frederick's face. "Frederick, how old are you?"
Why didn't they just tell the truth.
