Chapter 23: Chapter Twenty Two: Why Do You Want To Terminate This Pregnancy?

Ciara's POV

I paced back and forth in my room, the check burning a hole in my hand. "Should I return this check?" I asked myself, my heart pounding in my chest. This was a lot of money - three million dollars. It could change my life. But it wasn't mine, it was Vulcan's. And taking it would be stealing.

But it could also be a chance for me to improve my life. Plus, Vulcan had been terrible towards me, so doing this to him would be like evening the score. And I wouldn't have to depend on anyone else anymore. I could be free.

I sat down on the edge of the bed, staring at the check. The numbers seemed to swim before my eyes - three million dollars. That was enough to terminate this pregnancy and start a new life somewhere, to get away from all of this.
