Before he came here, Cian had visited the chamber of Marquis Percy, he informed them with an icy tone.

"Ah." That explained Cian's substantial gold reserves. If Arlan had to guess, those pouches of gold could support a small village for a couple of lifetimes. "Who would have thought that the Crown Prince of Abetha is a thief?"

"It doesn't matter, as long as I can save myself and the recklessly brave Crown Prince of Griven."

The two walked on in silence. Outside, they could hear the screams of people.

After some time, Cian inquired, "Bring me up to date. How did you get here, and how are we going to escape from here?"

Before Arlan could answer, the ground trembled, making them lose their balance and cling to the wall for support. Not just the ground—the whole castle shook as if in an earthquake, but the trembling ceased after a few seconds.

"It seems the devil has broken loose," remarked Arlan gravely.
