Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Allergy

"Don't pretend to be innocent," sneered the witch, Sasa, licking her lips. "If you were truly innocent, you wouldn't be here. No one is innocent in this place."

Karl's anger flared up at her words. Without thinking, he bit down hard on the hand gripping his arm.

"Ahhh!" Sasa screamed, and Karl pulled back, feeling a wave of disgust rise in his throat. The whole scene made him want to throw up.

Sasa's expression twisted into something darker, her face filled with rage. She grabbed his arms tightly and slapped him across the face.

"You dare to bite me?" she shouted, her voice echoing. Karl flinched, pain stinging his cheek as tears pricked his eyes. A few people glanced over, but no one stepped in to help. He could feel their eyes on him, yet they just looked away, uninterested in stopping the cruel scene unfolding before them.
