Chapter 106:  Upgrading the Elven Spring!

Sophia didn't hesitate for long. In Haotian's presence, she swiftly swore allegiance to the Golden Oasis. Had it been during her first visit, she might have refused him. But now, the Golden Oasis seemed like a place she could only aspire to join.

A bone dragon, a plague dragon, and a massive army of Golden Griffon Knights, along with numerous treants—this was an overwhelming display of power. Coupled with the ever-expanding Golden Oasis, it was clearly heading towards becoming a kingdom. If she performed well, she might one day be part of its high-ranking officials. This prospect was far more promising than being a merchant in the Forest City.

...

After the oath-taking ceremony, Sophia gazed at the handsome young lord before her, feeling an inexplicable sense of deeper reverence. Haotian waved his right hand, and a bottle of wine along with two glasses appeared on the stone table.

Seeing this, Sophia promptly rose to her feet, took the bottle, and poured the blood-red wine into the glasses. Haotian lifted his glass with a smile, "To celebrate your joining the Golden Oasis!"

"Praise the Lord!" Sophia echoed, raising her glass to toast with him.

As soon as the wine touched her lips, she started coughing violently, her delicate cheeks turning crimson. It took a while for her to recover, savoring the warmth and fragrance in her stomach.

"Lord, what is this wine? It's far superior to the one I left in your territory before. It would surely be a hit in Forest City!" Sophia exclaimed.

"It's called Bloody Mary, and each glass is worth three thousand gold coins," Haotian replied.

"So expensive!" Sophia gasped inwardly. That single sip just cost her a few hundred gold coins.

"Drink as much as you like," Haotian said with a smile. In the Hero Tavern, Bloody Mary was the cheapest wine. The drink Keisha had offered him, worth tens of millions of lord coins, was the true luxury. Converted to the Sacred Continent's gold coins, its value was in the billions.

Haotian wasn't celebrating with Sophia just to toast. Drinking was secondary; his primary goal was to acquire the Hero Tavern's bottles and glasses. Both the bottle and the glasses were far sturdier than he had imagined, unbreakable even by his strength. Spending a few thousand lord coins for a bottle of Bloody Mary, which came with a bottle and two glasses, was definitely a good deal. He planned to collect more and possibly forge them into equipment. Who knows, he might create a piece of legendary gear.

...

After a few drinks, Sophia was slightly tipsy. Seizing the moment of her remaining lucidity, she handed over the dragon corpses and gold coins she had brought from Forest City, along with over twenty Dragon Soul Grass plants. Ten dragon corpses, all desiccated and neatly arranged in her space ring, each over a hundred meters long. Two of them were even longer than 130 meters, surpassing the bone dragon Charles in life.

"Lord, that masked man, I still don't know his identity. He asked for more elven spring water before he left. Clearly, he has more dragon corpses!" Sophia's voice was soft and fragrant.

"No need to worry about his identity," Haotian said, storing the space ring containing the dragon corpses. While converting the millions of gold coins from another space item into lord coins, he added, "As long as he provides dragon corpses, we will continue trading."

A smile crept across Haotian's face as the exchange boosted his lord coin reserves to 3.8 million, enough to purchase three ordinary domain principles. But he wasn't interested in ordinary domains; he wanted the best—time, space, destiny, causality—he liked them all.

"By the way, Lord," Sophia continued, "I heard from the elven city lord that she plans to visit the Golden Oasis. It seems they intend to buy all your elven spring water."

"Haha..." Haotian laughed, not out of mockery but because the elven city lord had no idea what she was up against.

Seeing Sophia's flushed cheeks and her unsteady posture, Haotian said with a smile, "There's a guest room in the courtyard. You can sleep there if you're drunk."

"Lord, I can still drink..." Sophia protested weakly.

Haotian walked over, scooped up the swaying Sophia, and carried her to the bedroom. She stiffened at first, but soon relaxed, curling up like a soft cat in his arms.

...

"I'll see how much you can buy!" Haotian stood by the Elven Spring, activating the upgrade option. With a burst of radiant light, the Elven Spring transformed into an advanced structure.

The advanced Elven Spring could now produce high-quality spring water, each bottle worth at least ten thousand gold coins. Its area had also expanded, with a well diameter over fifteen meters and a depth of twenty to thirty meters. This well could hold at least 200,000 bottles of elven spring water, equating to a value of two billion gold coins. No single elven city lord, not even the elven queen, could afford to buy it all.

"To be safe, I shouldn't let the elves see this well," Haotian thought, not wanting to scare them off.

To ensure this, he built a high-level residence to enclose the Elven Spring. The territory's buildings had anti-peeping functions. With the door closed, even a demigod couldn't sense the well.

Next, Haotian spent 100,000 lord coins and 50,000 units of stone to upgrade the Lucky Altar to a high-level structure. By tomorrow, its halo would refresh. He hoped for an even more powerful halo from the advanced Lucky Altar.

The most crucial task was upgrading the territory. Upgrading to a city hall would grant him another lord talent. Checking the territory's resource reserves—wood and stone were sufficient, but iron was slightly lacking. After waiting for about three hours, the required iron was also collected.

"Upgrade the territory!" With Haotian's whisper, a dazzling golden light emerged from the void, enveloping the entire Golden Oasis...
