Smallville Town Hospital
Jonathan stood in front of the glass, arms crossed, frowning as he looked inside the hospital room.
Eric sat on a bench in the corridor, pondering why his mother had collapsed.
Illness?
He hadn't noticed any signs or symptoms of illness in his mother.
Emotional stress?
No, Martha had always been stable emotionally, not prone to sudden outbursts.
Clark stood behind Jonathan, his face showing concern.
"Martha seemed fine all along. I don't understand why this happened," Jonathan said, his voice low.
"Mom will be okay," Clark reassured.
"I know, son."
Turning to Clark, Jonathan said, "And I know she wouldn't want all of us standing outside her room. Clark, you and Eric go home. I'll stay here."
"I'm not leaving," Clark insisted, shaking his head. "I'll stay with you, Dad."
"Clark, there's still a lot to do for Martha's charity dinner list. You know how important the food bank is to her, and she's been preparing for this for a long time."
The charity dinner was a fundraising concert Martha organized for the Neil family's Talon Club on Saturday, and she had prepared a pre-dinner to welcome guests.
Clark wanted to say something more, but seeing his father's determined look, he finally nodded and prepared to leave.
"Hey, Clark!"
A voice came from the corridor, and Lex Luthor appeared from one end and hurried towards the two.
After coming over, he first greeted Clark and then said to Jonathan, "Mr. Kent, I've contacted the best doctors in Metropolis, and they will be here soon for consultation. Or Mrs. Martha can also be transferred to Metropolis Hospital right now."
"Thank you."
Although Jonathan didn't have a good impression of Lex, facing the other's timely help, his attitude softened slightly.
"What did the doctor say?"
Lex asked Jonathan.
Before Jonathan could answer, a female doctor in a white coat came out of the room and said to everyone, "We checked Mrs. Martha's blood culture, and her symptoms indicate an acute toxin reaction. Perhaps her blood has been contaminated, and it can be inferred that Mrs. Martha has been exposed to some radiation or bio-magnetic field."
"Lex."
The female doctor obviously recognized Lex and said to the silent Lex, "I need to send the blood to the Metropolis Research Center. Will you help?"
Lex glanced at Jonathan and said, "Of course, the Kent family are all my friends, Helen."
Dr. Helen nodded and turned to Martha lying in bed in the room, "Even so, I'm still very worried about Mrs. Martha and the baby's safety."
Jonathan was stunned for a moment. "What did you say, baby?"
"You don't know?"
This time Dr. Helen was stunned.
"You must be mistaken. Martha, the doctor said she could never be pregnant."
Jonathan thought the other party must be joking.
"In fact, I asked your family doctor and asked him to fax Martha's medical records to me. Although there was no problem on the medical record form, there may have been some changes we did not know about."
After explaining to Jonathan, Dr. Helen gave a few more instructions before leaving.
Leaving Jonathan somewhat at a loss.
Eric heard the news that his mother was pregnant and stood up from the bench and walked out of the ward.
He was a little surprised by this news.
Although he has X-ray eyes, he doesn't know that his mother is pregnant because he never uses it on his family.
Standing in front of the window, looking at his mother in the room.
I once saw my mother in the barn where the spaceship was hidden, and was she accidentally injured by the Kryptonian spaceship while staying in the barn?
If it is injured by the radiation or energy of the Kryptonian spacecraft, how can it be cured?
Right hand on the glass, Eric fell into contemplation.
After nightfall, Eric came to the hospital from the farm and told his father his guess, and told Jonathan about the time when his mother had entered the barn alone.
"I knew."
Jonathan sat in the public rest area with a trace of a bitter smile, "I shouldn't let her go to the barn, I should stop her."
"It's not your fault, Dad."
Eric comforted his father.
"I know, but if something happens in front of me and I can't stop it, then I can't forgive myself."
Jonathan's eyes were a little red, but he resisted not losing his composure in front of his son.
"The doctor said the situation is a bit bad. I think. The spacecraft is the key. If we can start it again, maybe it will help cure your mother's illness."
"Well, I understand. Just leave the next thing to me."
Eric comforted his father two sentences, and thought of the octagonal metal piece he got from Hamilton.
Maybe that thing is the key to starting the spacecraft.
From the hospital back to the farm, Eric opened the barn with a key and entered the place where the spaceship was hidden.
Clark was delivering materials to the Talon Club at this time, and he was the only one on the farm.
Using a pulley to open the cellar door, step on the wooden stairs into the ground.
Just entered the ground, there was a smell of decaying soil.
Eric walked to the spaceship and lifted the plastic sheet covering it.
With a "crash" sound, the spaceship with a dark and cold color appeared in front of Eric.
After carefully looking at the spaceship, Eric took out the octagonal metal piece he got from Hamilton.
Comparing with some missing parts of the spacecraft, he quickly found an octagonal gap on the top of the spacecraft.
Just thinking about whether to put the octagonal metal piece up, the barn door was pushed open, and Clark's voice came.
"Hey, Eric, are you here?"
Just about to respond to him for a moment, Clark pushed open the corner of the cellar door to Eric.
"Why hide in such a cellar that is not used all year round?"
Clark cast his gaze in and saw the spaceship next to Eric.
As soon as he saw the spaceship, he was completely stunned.
"What is this?"
After standing still for a few seconds, Clark pushed open the cellar door and walked in.
Standing beside Eric, he looked at the spaceship in front of him with a shocked look.
"Why is there a spaceship hidden in our cellar? And I know nothing about it?"
Clark looked at Eric in surprise and was puzzled after the shock.
